Scaredy Cat says, "BOO!"

I am very excited that My Scrap Chick is having a Design Team Call. I have been waiting for this for years. I really like this company and have been following them forever. When I saw the call in the newsletter for the first time, I was sad. I am in the tail end of a major move from New Mexico to Ohio, and we are still unpacking. I figured trying out would be difficult, but today I refused to let the opportunity pass me by. I dug around for what I needed to complete a card using the Scaredy Cat file. It is such a cute file and I have wanted to use it for some time now. So here is to taking a shot at the last minute while waiting for the buzzer to blow. I hope you enjoy the card as much as I enjoyed putting it together. It was such fun to play with paper after the long couple of months of packing and unpacking.

I used some G45 paper and S.E.I. paper along with AC cardstock to complete my card. I used a Spellbinder's die for the bat and the clock is a G45 chipboard piece. I inked all my edges and used pop dots to attach  my Scaredy Cat piecing to give the card dimension. I think the card turned out super cute and my 5 year old is already asking if I will give it to her for Halloween.

As My Scrap Chick asked for a bit of information about my style, I would like to add here that making 3D projects and cards are my favorite; but I have also dabbled in scrapbook pages and mini albums. My favorite projects usually revolve around holiday themes, but I also like to make things for my kids teachers and other occasions were a Thank You is appropriate. Some of my favorite paper lines to use on my projects include Graphic 45, My Mind's Eye, Bo Bunny, Echo Park, and Carta Bella. When creating I would feel lost without my ink pads and pop dots as I like to add dimension to my projects. My favorite embellishment is probably a good ole button but I use a wide variety of items on my projects.

Red, White, and Blue

How about a little Red, White, and Blue. I love this card from the Five Minute Card Kit at svgcuts.com. I used my Eclips to cut it out and a few minutes later I had this card. The hardest part was picking out my papers and digging buttons out of a jar. The paper is MME. I will enter this into the following challenge.

Skater Dude!

So my son is turning 9 this weekend. As he gets older, Super Heroes have become less important and Sports have become everything. This year he wanted his party to be skater themed. I asked him if he wanted me to make his invitations and his reply was "No, I don't want anything babyish." I asked him to take a look at the SVG Cutting Files skater file and he quickly changed his mind. I began to design these, but I had no time for paper-piecing 15 cards; so I decided to print the JPG instead. I fussy cut around it and then used a distress tool to add distressing around the edge of the image and around the maroon and black layered cardstock. I finished up the first one and showed it to him. He was so excited and exclaimed, "This is the coolest invitation you have ever made me." That made my day. Thank you SVG Cutting Files for helping me be a hit with my precious son! I truly appreciate it!!!

Super Dad!

I was so excited to be able to make my husband a Superman card for Father's Day. For his gift, the kids and I took him to see Man of Steel. My husband is a rock in our family. Life is richer and fuller just having him around. We are blessed to have someone who cares about us and cares for us. I appreciate everything he does!

For this card I used several SVG files from various companies. The Superman is from a file called Super Kid found at SVG Cutting Files. The badge is from Pretty Papers Pretty Ribbons. The cityscape is from SVG Cuts in a kit called New Year's Eve. The DP is Echo Park (Hello Summer Paper Pack).I used Papertrey Ink cardstock for the base. My husband was so excited about this card. He said that it is going straight to his office.
