Explosions of Fun

Happy Saturday, everyone!!! May your weekend be blessed. There is so much to celebrate this time of year as another school year comes to a close. And soon it will be time to begin plans for our 4th of July Holiday.

Are you planning a special get together with friends? Or will you be sending cards to our troops? Well then, how about a bit more inspiration from the

Craftin' Desert Divas Celebrate Freedom stamp set!

I used the Explosions of Fun sentiment!

Nothing like a good fireworks show as our flag stands tall in the wind.

The card is a standard A2 size and would make a great invitation to a backyard cookout on the 4th. Change the sentiment to Home of the Brave or Celebrate Freedom and it would be a perfect card to send to a soldier. And of course there are many more possibilities! The cut files for the flag and fireworks come from Miss Kate Cuttables.

Supplies Used:
Craftin' Desert Divas: Celebrate Freedom
Miss Kate Cuttables: 4th of July Banners and American Flag

Various cardstocks including some from American Craft

Thanks for dropping in today!

Blessings,

Thank a Soldier

As I was putting together this card, I couldn't help but to think about all the soldiers past and present who have given and currently give me and my family the opportunity to celebrate the 4th of July; so I made it a Thank You card.

This 4th of July season I would encourage you to Thank a Soldier too.

I used My Scrap Chick's 4th of July tag to make this 4x4" square card. I just adjusted the size of the tag to fit on to the front of the card. The pieces still cut easily on my Cameo even in the smaller size. It could also be made as a tag as it was originally designed and used on a gift package for a soldier. I hope you will give it a try!

Craftin' Desert Divas Linky Party.
Theme: Puns

Oh Boy!!!

Hey, Everyone, it's Friday! Yeah!!! I hope all of you have a wonderful weekend ahead of you!

Today I am sharing a project for two Design Teams:
Craftin Desert Divas and Simply Create Too.

The project highlights the Snips and Snails stamp set from the Craftin' Desert Divas shop!

Making cards and gift bags for babies has to be about the best thing ever, don't ya think!!!

The bag will hold a small gift and the card is just perfect to give the sweet baby a small note of welcome into his family.

I just love the big eyes on this snail! Too cute!!

Can't you see this made for a little girl! Just change the shell to shades of pink and use a sentiment from Sugar and Spice.

 Supplies Used:
Craftin' Desert Divas: Snips and Snails
Treasure Box Designs: Cute as a Bug (Snail)
My Scrap Chick: Gift Bag, Tag, and Cards (Gift Bag Only)
Trendy Twine: Twisted Lime

School's Out!

Wow, it has been a few weeks. My die-cutting machine went on the permanently injured list and I had to get something new. Got a Cameo this time. This is the 2nd project I have cut with it and I am enjoying it!

Today I have a Design Team project for My Scrap Chick.

The end of the school year is looming on the horizon and I thought it would be good to get started on some cards that the boys could give to their teachers at the end of the year to say Thank You.

I used two sets of cut files from the My Scrap Chick store to make this card:

Other Supplies Used:
Echo Park paper: Everyday Eclectic
Canvas Corp: Chalkstock
My Craft Spot: Big Sentiments 2
Trendy Twine: Twisted Lime
Graphic 45: Stamp from the ABC Primer collection
Tim Holtz: Distress Crackle Paint/Clear Rock Candy
Papertrey Ink: Fresh Snow ink
Buttons and Gems from My Stash

It is hard to see the Clear Rock Candy Crackle Paint on the apple in the photo, but it does add a really nice touch to the card. And I really like the effect of the white ink on the chalkstock. I think that when I make the next one, I will use a colored ink to make it look like colored chalk. Another fun idea would be to use sequins in place of the buttons and gems.

Thanks for stopping by! I am so glad you are here! Check back tomorrow for another DT post.

Blessings,

Spring Bunny

I had made a set of cards right before Easter that I had forgot to share. It was the last cards I was able to make before my Eclips quit working on me. I have sat around for a week and a half now with out my favorite crafting tool. I am happy to report that a new machine is on the way and should be here by Monday!!! I'm getting a Cameo this time!

But for now, I'd like to share this one last Easter card set. I also think this card could be used as a fun Just Because Spring card. But I'll let you decide.

I used the Spring Faces Cards from My Scrap Chick for this fun 3.5x3.5" card. This has been my favorite size card to make lately. They are so easy to tuck into a gift bag or to leave on the dresser of a guest room when you stay with a friend or family. They are also great to stick on gift packages or to leave as little notes in your spouses bag when he travels! So many possibilities!!!

If you give the Spring Cards Faces a try, I would love to see your card or project!!!

Supplies Used:
My Scrap Chick Cut Files: Spring Faces Cards
Doodlebug Designs: Hello Spring
(I think Doodlebug is now in my top 3 for favorite paper lines!)
Trendy Twine: Bubblegum Tafffy
My Craft Spot: Tiny Tags
Peachy Keen Stamps: Winter Faces Assortment
American Craft: Cardstock

Here is a close up of my tag. I really like the Tiny Tags set if you haven't noticed yet!!!
