Card Class at The Scrapbook Workshoppe!

I'm so excited to be teaching a card class at The Scrapbook Workshoppe in Blue Springs this Thursday August 2. If you live in the Kansas City area, we would love to have you join us!

We will be making these three cards. The one about uses stamps and dies from Taylored Expressions. I used Copics to color my images and Distress Oxide inks to make the watery background.

The last two cards are made with stamps and dies from Reverse Confetti. The images are also colored with Copics. The above card uses a Distress Oxide as well, but the one below in blended using Memento inks.

I'm very excited! There are three different class times I will be teaching. For more information, call The Scrapbook Workshoppe.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!!!

Frog Princess!

Recently Christine Young from Paper Nest Dolls asked me to color one of her images and I have it finished for you today.

This is the Frog Princess file sent to me a digi image, but Christine's store is full of fun rubber stamps as well! I used my Copics to color her and to create the outdoor scene around her. I used Hammermill 110# cover cardstock to print my image. The background paper is from Doodlebug Design and the cardstock base is Papertrey Ink. I used a die from Jaded Blossom but cut off a bit of the cardstock around the edges and finished it off with a sentiment from My Favorite Things.

Copics:
Dress: R81, 83, 85, V01, 000, 0000
Hair: E47, 44, 42, 40

Use your favorite skin tone combo for her skin and green and blue combos for your grass and sky.

Have a wonderful Saturday night and see you back here soon.!

Fairy Magical Birthday!

I started this fairy a couple of days ago and shared it on Instagram as my Day 11 coloring. Was happy to get her finished today to share for Day 13 of The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge. I had another marker run out on me - my B000 while coloring the background. Now I'm wondering how many markers 30 days of coloring could empty. Ha, that means plenty of practicing and taking time to do something I enjoy is happening around here!!!

Copic Colors:
Wings: B05, B02, B00
Pinks: R85, R83, R81
Yellows: Y15, Y02, Y00
Hair: E44, E42, and just a touch of E40
Background: B00, B000, B0000, Blender
Use your favorite skin tone combo!

The stamp and sentiment along with both dies are from Jaded Blossom. I colored on Hammermill 100# paper and the cardstock is Papertrey Ink.

Morticia!

A little throwback to the Addams Family today for a challenge I'm participating in over on the Alicia Bel Facebook page. I decided to give Morticia a red dress, but I still like her style!

I used my Copics for my coloring. My C1 ran out of ink in the midst of working on the skin tone. I knew I needed a refill for this marker, but just hadn't bought it yet. Oh well, even if I didn't get the result I was aiming for, I am not disappointed in how it turned out.

Here are most of the colors I used:
Hair: N8, N6, N4
Skin: C5, C3, C1, E000, Blender
Dress: R89, R59, R39, R29
Eyeshadow: RV32, R32, R30
Garden Clippers: C5, C3, C1, RV69, R89, R59
Rose: R59, R29, R27, R24, G99, YG63, YG03

I added glitter to her hair with a Wink of Stella pen. Happily my photo caught some of that shine. I also used some Black Soot Distress Oxide to cover the white framing my image. For the card, I used dies from Jaded Blossom and My Creative Time. The cardstock is from Papertrey Ink.

Hello Friend!

It's Day 8 of The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge. I'm excited to say that I have shared something everyday so far! But if you want to see days 5-7, you'll have to head over to my Instagram page here or my Facebook page here as I haven't made those colorings into cards. Although my day 6 colorings will be cards soon - yay!

Today, I have a magical image from Alicia Bel to share with you called Happy Unicorn. I am still coloring with my Copics. The wings and hair have been colored with a Wink of Stella pen as well to give them some glitter, but it doesn't show in the photo unfortunately! The background clouds were made with a stencil from My Favorite Things and Broken China Distress Oxide. The patterned paper is from Lawn Fawn. And I used a die from Jaded Blossom.

I had colored two of these images and had planned to use the other one for my card as it was a bit more colorful; but when I stamped my sentiment onto the card, I got ink on my image. It was a real reminder that it is best to stamp the sentiment before attaching the image. LOL!

Thinking of You!

I am almost feeling like my summer break might be busier than the school year. Ok, that's not true, but it was a busy Monday after a busy Sunday nonetheless and tomorrow it is not slowing down either. I think that is just the life of a mama with three kiddos! LOL!

Today's coloring and card use an image from CC Designs. Isn't she just the cutest?! She is definitely thinking about something and it looks a bit mischievous.

I went old school from my days of working on the Trendy Twine DT and used some twine on my card. Hadn't done that in awhile. The card base is cardstock from Papertrey Ink and the background paper and enamel dots are from Doodlebug Design. I used my Copics to color her, but didn't write down my colors. Sometimes I color sitting in my car while waiting for a kiddo to get done with practice and in those moments I am just enjoying the luxury of being quiet and still and just coloring. Any other mamas know what I'm talking about! :)

This is my Day 4 coloring for The Daily Marker 30 Day Challenge.

You're Amazing! (Forest Elf)

It has been a busy Sunday and I almost didn't make it to my computer to share my Day 3 project for The Daily Marker 30 Day Challenge. But here she is! This image is called Forest Elf and can be found in the Alicia Bel Digital Stamp store. And I truly do think this image is amazing! I had a great time coloring her and I am especially excited about how her hair turned out. The image is colored with Copic Markers. I wrote down many of them that I used, but not all; so I will share what I have.

Copic Markers:
Dress: G99, G63, G61
Eyes: G17, G14, YG13
Hair: E49, E47, E44, E42
Bow: E18, E15, E13
Arrows: C1, C3, E18, E15, E13, E44, E41

Because "I Love You"!

Last month's free class from Kit and Clowder used this image to teach us to color on a candle. I still haven't bought  a candle, but wanted to color up this sweet bear image from Di's Digis; so I just colored it up on paper and made a card with the image instead. I still used the Copic color combos and techniques taught in the class. Thanks, Alyce, for another great class!!! It might sound weird, but my favorite part is how the big leaf on the rose turned out, but I am thrilled with the whole image.

The cardstock base is Summer Sunrise from Papertrey Ink and the sentiment is from a company that is now closed. And this is my Day 2 coloring for The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge hosted by Kathy Rac.

You should find my Day 3 coloring here or on my Instagram page (or both) tomorrow. See you then!

Goal, It's Your Birthday!

My son has been playing soccer for years, so I was super excited to color this sweet image from Lily of the Valley digital stamps. I have wanted this stamp for some time, but it wasn't always available as a digi - so glad it is now!

I gave this card to my son last month for his birthday. We had such a great time. We went to the park and he invited friends from school, church, and his soccer team; so we had quite the gang. The park had a basketball court and a big field so they played a little basketball followed by baseball and then kickball. It was fun to see a bunch of kiddos just outdoors having fun!!!

Here are my color combos the best that I remember them. I wrote them down on the backside of my piece in pencil as I colored it but forgot to write them down somewhere else before gluing the panel to the card. Oh well, I tried!

Blues are the B 90s
Grays are the Cool Grays
Skin Tone: E04, E11, E21, E00, E000
Hair is the E40s
Grass has Cool Grays and a couple of green colors

Thanks for stopping by!

Thanks Beary Much!

It's been Teacher Appreciation Week this week, and this is a card that I made that was suppose to be given to my daughter's teacher. It didn't make it to school with her gift, but we will give it to her at the end of the year.

I used an svg file from Little Scraps of Heaven. The dies for the panels, the word die, and the sentiment are all from My Creative Time. The pretty floral paper is from Simple Stories Vintage Bliss.

Present to Go!

Received this sweet digi from Di's Digi Stamps as a freebie in the Kit and Clowder group and I just couldn't wait to color it up. There is just way too much cuteness going on and I am also a sucker for presents, especially birthday presents!

I used the following Copic combos:

Present: C9, R39, 37, 35, 22
Bow on the Present: V09, 06, 04

Bow on the Bear: C7, R29, 27, 24
Little Bear's Shirt: BV17, 13, 11
Ground: C3, 1, Blender
Background: a little B0000 around the image

For my shading, especially for the present box, I used lots of techniques from the free Markers 101 class from kitandclowder.com and techniques I have learned in a few of the other classes I have taken from there as well.

The cardbase is Papertrey Ink's Red Poppy cardstock. The dp is from Doodlebug Design. I colored on Hammermill Bright White 100# cardstock. I used a sentiment and die from Jaded Blossom.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you will consider following my blog or following one of my other sites. You can find them in the tabs below my header. Have a great day!

Easter Lamb!

I have another set of Easter cards to share. This time I am using an image from Mindy Baxter over at My Copic Scoop. This little lamb is adorable and she made the perfect way to say Happy Easter.

One of the things I was excited about with these cards is that I was able to practice coloring in grass. I watched a few videos - one a class video from Kit and Clowder and also a few on YouTube. I felt good about starting in a small space - LOL! Maybe I will get around to coloring a meadow next or maybe not!

I used the Copic C (cool) Markers for these. I wanted to try a black lamb, a white lamb, and one in between and I just love how they all turned out.

Enjoy your Easter Holiday! I am looking forward to worshiping in the morning with my church family as we give thanks that Jesus was resurrected!

Peeking Bunnies Wishing You a Happy Easter!

Celebrating Easter with this sweet image from Gerda Steiner Designs.

This cutie is a freebie over on their store website, and I just couldn't resist it! I made these 3 and a few more to share with friends and family this weekend.

Unfortunately I did not write down any of my Copic color combos for these. I was carrying around my bag of markers and several of these images and just coloring them whenever I had a moment to spare. I do know that the gray bunnies were colored with Copic Gray C markers and the brown bunnies were colored with E40, 42, and 44.

Here are some close-ups of the cards above:

I hope you have an amazing Easter weekend and I hope to be back on here at least one more time this weekend to share another set of Easter cards that I made as well.

Happily Ever After Princess!

Used a digi stamp from Yampuff on this sweet princess card that will be perfect for a Bridal Shower or for a Birthday card for a little princess.

I have been practicing more with my Copics this year and decided to color up this image after taking the July 2017 Markers class from Kit and Clowder. I'm working on pleats in these big dresses. I love the B90's color combo in the Copics so that is what I used here. I used the E40's for her hair - probably E43, E41, and E40. My background paper is from Lawn Fawn and the cardstock is from Papertrey Ink. The dies and sentiment are Jaded Blossom.

Thanks for stopping by to take a look!

Hello Friend!

Today I am sharing a card I made using a digital image from Wee Stamps that are illustrated by Sylvia Zet. This image is just so sweet and puts me right in the mood for spring!!!

The diecut used around the image is from Papertrey Ink - Brushed Off Rectangle Die. I also used Stitched Rectangle Frame from My Creative Time. The patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye and the white cardstock base is Papertrey Ink.

I used my Copics to color the image on X-press It Blending Card. I am grateful for all I have learned from Kit and Clowder's Skin and Hair online class. It has helped immensely. Next on my to do list is the Clothing Class.

So glad you were able to drop by!

There's No Business, Like Snow Business!

Hey, everyone! Happy Tuesday to you!

This week the Die Cuttin' Diva's are doing a Snowflake Theme Challenge. And as their Guest Diva, I have this cute set to share with you!

For my Die Cuts, I have used the Stitched Rectangular Frame Dies and More from My Creative Time and the Luggage Tag Dies from Jaded Blossom.

To go along with the Snowflake theme, I have used the Inkadinkado Christmas Characters stamp set. I picked this set up at Hobby Lobby for what seems like years ago and I'm excited to have finally used it. This little snowman is just adorable!

I hope you will join the Die Cuttin' Divas team as well this week for some Snowflake fun. There are lots of sweet crafters on that Design Team and they have lots of inspiration to share.

Love You Dragon! MFT Sketch Challenge #367!

Well, it is my intention to join in on all 30 Days of the Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge! This is my Day 2 project. Sometimes I will only be coloring something up to get in a bit of practice and it will be posted on my Instagram page - here. Othertimes I will take what I have colored and add it to a card or other project as I have today.

I am also excited that I will be able to enter this into the My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge #367. At first, I was a bit intimidated by this sketch, but I was determined to tackle it and (I think) it came out fantastic! I think this card will be my daughter's for Valentine's Day and I know she will love it too. These little dragons by MFT are some of my and her favorites!

I have also used the Rectangle Peek-a-boo Window from MFT.

Hope you have enjoyed this card as much as I have. Have a great week! I get another day out of school today due to really cold weather and I am not complaining - or at least I won't be until all of the school staff and students are attending make-up days at the beginning of summer break. Hehe!

Charming Friend Castle Card!

Hey, Crafty Friends. Back with my first card of the New Year.

I decided that I would try the MFT Color Challenge #84.

Here are the Challenge Colors:

I am a fan of a blue, yellow, and orange color palette, so I was excited about this one. I used the Castle dies, some free Cloud dies, and the Magical Dragons stamps from My Favorite Things.

Hoping to join in on more Color Challenges this year.
