Santa and His Reindeer Gift Box!

One more Christmas project to share with you and then it is time to think about the new year and all the fun projects the year will bring. I made this gift box for my Sister in Law to hold some BBW hand soaps. As soon as I saw this file of Santa in the Silhouette store, I knew had to use him somehow. I know that this Santa will be used next year too.

Using the same Nail Polish Tote from Lori Whitlock that I used to make my Baby Sock Tote with this last September, I sized it even larger this time to hold the hand soap bottles. I used some heavy cardstock from my stash and decorated it using paper from Echo Park's Tis the Season Paper Pad that I picked up from Annie's Paper Boutique (Home of Trendy Twine). I then opened up the Santa Sleigh Silhouetted by the Moon file (#52304) and altered it so that I would only have one reindeer and sized it for the front of the box. I used heavy black textured cardstock from my stash for this. I also die cut a Spellbinders Oval die with my Cuttlebug and stamped it using a stamp from My Craft Spot's Naughty or Nice stamp set. Once I figured out how I wanted my Santa placed on the box, I wrapped some Holly Berry Trendy Twine around it. I added the Santa silhouette and the sentiment with pop dots. This was one of my favorite creations of the season.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! Hope to have you here again soon.

Merry Christmas 2014 from Trendy Twine!

All of us at Trendy Twine would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas!

May you know God's presence as we celebrate His son!

My sweet baby girl has been singing Jingle Bells all month long. She comes to me every day or two and says, "Mom, what are the words to that song again," and we sing it together. She has also memorized where to find a version of it sang by Willie Nelson on a CD in our stack of Christmas music that is sitting next to the stereo by the tree. She just walks over there and pops in it and sings and dances. It is so fun to see the joy it has brought her this season. So I couldn't help but make this card to commemorate the joys of the season. I actually saw a card similar to this done by a DT member from Little Scraps of Heaven designs and I asked Jennifer's permission to scraplift from her. Thank you Jennifer for allowing me to do so!

The sleigh for the card was a freebie from Little Scraps of Heaven a few weeks ago. The snow at the bottom came from a set from Miss Kate Cuttables. The background paper is from Bo Bunny's snowfall collection. The twine is from Trendy Twine, of course, and is called Cherry Latte. It is such a wonderful blend of red, white, and kraft colors. I added a tag that I altered from My Scrap Chick and the sentiment is from My Craft Spot's Tiny Tags Christmas stamp set.

Merry Christmas Tag!

Wanting to share one more tag that I have made as I prepare for the big day.

I am using a cut file from KaDoodle Bug Designs!

One of the things I like about the pattern sets at KBD is that they always contain lots of little extras. Today I am using a Christmas bulb from the Merry Moose-mas set.

I started out by cutting out the Christmas bulb and piecing it together. I then used my Cuttlebug to die cut two layers from the Spellbinders Label Four set and adhered them together. I then added the bulb to my tag base. I also die cut a banner die from My Craft Spot and stamped it with a My Craft Spot sentiment from the Naughty or Nice stamp set. I used some Holly Berry Trendy Twine to make a bow for my ornament and then I tied off a bit more at the top of the tag. Pop dots were used for dimension and I inked all my pieces with various inks. Two days to go, and today I will get out and finish my Christmas shopping. Yuck! That is the part that I truly dislike about this holiday. I am not a shopper! I hope all your preparations are coming together.

Thanks for stopping in today! Please stop by my Facebook and Pinterest pages as well.

Let It Snow Snowman Bear Gift Bag!

How about another cute gift bag? This one is using a fun file from

One of Melissa's newest files is Fun in the Snow. I think these bears are absolutely adorable.

I used the Snowman Bear on my gift bag.

I started by sizing my bear in my Silhouette software to the size I needed so that it would fit on my bag. (The bag was sized to the largest size I could make it on my virtual mat.) I cut the pieces and put my bear together. I used paper from Carta Bella's Merry and Bright collection. I then took another piece of the patterned paper from the collection and cut out my gift bag. The gift bag is from SVG Cutting Files Dinosaur Handled Bag file. Once my bag was cut and assembled, I added the Snowman Bear file with pop dots. I then die cut a banner from the Spellbinder's Pennant set, added my sentiment from Peachy Keen Stamps Christmas Greeting Words set and some Totally Natural Trendy Twine, and attached it to the bag as well. I also attached a snowflake from a Martha Stewart punch I have. So excited to have made two adorable gift bags this week. See Monday's post for the other one.

I hope you have a terrific week and as always I am grateful that you dropped by. I invite you to check out my Facebook and Pinterest pages as well if you'd like.

Blessings,

Guest Designing for Jaded Blossom - Elf with Sign Gift Bag

Happy Sunday, friends!!! Today I am Guest Designing with Jaded Blossom. I want to send a huge thank you to Candace and Michelle for the opportunity.

I find myself needing gift bags of all types and sizes as Christmas approaches, so I thought I would share one with you. I think it turned out super cute and I hope you like it too.

I decided to start with a file that I go back to time and time again. It is the Dinosaur Handled Bag from SVG Cutting Files. I really like the shape of this bag and it is so super easy to assemble. I used a sheet of patterned paper from the Christmas Cottage collection by Teresa Collins. For the elf, I used a file that I have had for a while from Little Scraps of Heaven Designs called Christmas Elf with Sign. He has been on my list to make for a couple of Christmas's now, so I am glad I finally did. (Unfortunately I could not find him in the store now. Sorry about that.) His face is from the Peachy Keen Christmas in July Face Assortment. Before attaching the little guy to the bag, I wrapped the bag with a piece of crinkle ribbon and tied a bow. I then threaded my button with some Holly Berry Trendy Twine and again tied that into a bow and attached it to the ribbon. I finished it all off with a sentiment from Jaded Blossom. I used a stamp from the Christmas Wishes set. This stamp set is one of my favorites and I go back to it over and over again as well.

Here is a close up of the sentiment.

Well after finishing up the bag, I couldn't help but think that the little guy would also make for a sweet gift card holder too; so back to the crafting table I went!

I again used pattern paper from the Christmas Cottage collection and cut out a policy envelope cut file (not sure where I got this one from). The envelope measures 2 1/2"x3 3/4". I decided to change the elf up by reversing the colors and of course finished him off with another sentiment from the Christmas Wishes stamp set from Jaded Blossom.

(Edit to my post: Found my policy envelope - It is from SVG Cutting Files: Decorative Edge Policy Envelope and you can find it here.)
Make sure you stop by the Jaded Blossom blog and leave a comment on my post and all the other Guest Design posts for this month. There are prizes that will be won by someone for doing so!

Thank you for dropping by here!

Trendy Twine's 12 Days of Christmas Day 8

On the 8th Day of Christmas, Trendy Twine shared with me...

Hey All!!! - It is Day 8 of Gift Packaging ideas from Trendy Twine.
I hope you have been enjoying all the ideas for the Christmas Season as much as we have been enjoying sharing them with you.

It drives my husband batty, but I have this need to really dress up my holiday packages and stocking stuffers. That means big bows, lots of ribbon and twine, and of course cute tags. Yes, I admit, that I may go a bit overboard in my hubby's opinion; but until he helps with the wrapping, I guess I get to do it any way I want to, right!!!!

Today I have a stocking stuffer to share with you that has a tag attached and then I will also show you the same tag made with different colors. I used Holly Berry and Twisted Gumball Trendy Twine. I have also used the 8" Skinny Candy Chutes.

The tag is from the Silhouette Store and is 4" in height and was made using a MME's Merry Christmas paper pad. The cut file that I attached to it with pop dots is from Little Scraps of Heaven and the stamped sentiment is from My Craft Spot. I added ribbon with a bit of Holly Berry Trendy Twine and a jingle bell as well.

Here is a close up of the tag.

This penguin is so super cute hiding under his Santa hat!

To attach the tag, I wrapped some more Holly Berry TT around the candy chute and then attached it to the ribbon on the back of the tag.

This next tag is for my princess, so it had to be made up in pinks. And since Twisted Gumball is one of my favorite twine colors, I accented my pink tag with blue and again attached another cute penguin.

I hope you will stop by the Trendy Twine blog to see all the wonderful projects my talented teammates have made. And remember there are four more day of ideas left to go.

I am happy you dropped by my blog today, and I hope you will find me on my Facebook and Pinterest pages as well.

May you know God's presence this Christmas season,

Today, I am using the Small Treat Tin for my project.

For me, Christmas is Christ! So I wanted to start my December
with a reminder of His birth in the manger.

I used Carta Bella's Merry and Bright paper collection to decorate my tin on the top and on the bottom half sides. I used design #49706 from the Silhouette Store to make cutting my pieces easier. It was a bit off, but I altered it to make it work. I then added Holly Berry Trendy Twine around the top sides by adding tape along the length of the sides to hold the twine. My paper piecing of Baby Jesus comes from My Scrap Chick's Christmas Nativity 1 - Manger set. I altered the manger a bit as well. The sentiment is from My Craft Spot's Tiny Tags Christmas stamp set. I stamped it on to a die cut from Spellbinder's Nested Ovals set. I used pop dots to add Baby Jesus in the Manger. I finished it all off with a bow of Holly Berry Trendy Twine above my sentiment and some small gems. This little tin is perfect for storing 25 Advent scripture cards for your daily readings. It is also a great size to put in a few pieces of candy to give someone as a treat.

Here are my supplies from the Trendy twine store:

It is a blog hop so there has to be prizes, right! We will actually have two lucky winners. Each winner will receive a spool of Candy Cane Trendy Twine and a set of printable Christmas tags. Day 2 of the scripture reading that I am following this Advent season:

1 Corinthians 1:3-9

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. I give thanks to God always for you because of the grace of God which was given you in Christ Jesus, that in every way you were enriched in him with all speech and all knowledge--even as the testimony to Christ was confirmed among you--so that you are not lacking in any spiritual gift, as you wait for the revealing of our Lord Jesus Christ; who will sustain you to the end, guiltless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

Happy Birthday Balloon!

I had this piece of designer paper sitting on my desk for months now, so I finally picked it up last night and used it as the background piece to make this birthday card. It comes from the Echo Park collection called Everyday Eclectic.

I went through my scrap bin to find cardstock to make my hot air balloon out of. I used a cut file from SVG Cut's For My Valentine kit. I should have added some kind of embossing or something to the balloon, but sometimes I just want to put something together without much hassle. The twine is Twisted Gumball from Trendy Twine. I really like this color. Probably one of my favorites that I have!!! The sentiment is from Jaded Blossom's Simple Sayings set. I like this stamp set. It has great sentiments for many occasions and the fonts are awesome.

Well thanks for stopping by today. I hope you will visit my
Facebook and Pinterest pages as well.

Drop back by here tomorrow for a Trendy Twine Tin Blog Hop. You will be glad you did as we will be showing lots of inspiration for Christmas gift giving and we will be giving away prizes too.

Hello Friend Fall Maple Leaf Card

Today I want to share with you a variation on the card I posted yesterday.

The background paper is from Doodlebug Design's Kraft in Color series called Lily White Woodgrain. /the purple maple leaf is from Doodlebug Design's Friendly Forest paper pad. The leaf was cut using a file from SVG Cuts Caramel Apple Pie kit and then I ran it through my Cuttlebug in the D'vine embossing folder. I attached it with pop dots for dimension. I added a button that was tied with a bow using Trendy Twine's Grape Fizz. And I finished it off my stamping a sentiment from Verve Stamps Happy Hello set. I really like how this card turned out!

Happy Thanksgiving From Trendy Twine!

All of us at Trendy Twine want to celebrate Thanksgiving with you by sharing some fun projects. I hope you enjoy them all!

Here is mine:

I made this card using a bit of inspiration from Pinterest.

Using a piece of paper Doodlebug Design's Friendly Forest paper pad and some cardstock, I made a card base and background for my card. I then cut a maple leaf from SVG Cuts' Caramel Apple Pie kit and ran it through my Cuttlebug using the D'vine Swirls embossing folder and attached it with pop dots. I cut the banner from Spellbinder's Nested Pennants set and used two stamps from Jaded Blossom's Simple Sayings stamp set for my sentiment. I did not have one Happy Thanksgiving stamp in my whole stash, so I did some masking of the stamps I used to come up with Happy Thanks. It works in a pinch, I guess!!! I also attached the banner to my card using pop dots. I found a button that matched and threaded some Orange Truffle Trendy Twine through it and tied a bow.

I hope all of you have a Happy Thanksgiving! As I celebrate today, I cannot help but to be thankful for my husband and children, for my family and friends, and for Jesus. I'm curious about what you are thankful for today. Leave a comment and let me know. I'd be glad to read them!

Blessings,

Believe!

It is the last challenge of the year for Simply Create Too.
Theme: Snow, Snow, Snow/Use White
Nov 21 - Dec 4
Here is a CAS card that I made for some inspiration:

I used an A2 card base and then cut another piece of white cardstock at 3 7/8" x 5 1/8" and embossed it with a snowflake embossing folder in my Cuttlebug. I then die cut an ornament from the 2011 Heirloom Ornament set by Spellbinders. I inked the edges of the base, the backround, and the ornament using Memento Summer Sky. I also sponged lightly over the embossed snowflakes to help add more depth. The ornament was stamped with a Jaded Blossom sentiment from the Christmas Wishes stamp set using Memento Paris Dusk ink. I finished it off with a bow using Trendy Twine's Blueberry twine. The ornament was attached to the card using pop dots.

I hope you will pop in at Simply Create Too Blog and enter our challenge. Again, you have until Dec 4 to enter. After Dec. 4, we will take a break until Jan 2, 2015. We at SCT wish you a Happy Thanksgiving and a Very Merry Christmas!

I'm so glad you stopped by here today! Your visits are always welcomed. You can also find all my projects and cards on my Facebook page and Pinterest as well. And I have recently opened an Etsy shop (I promise more items are coming soon there).

Guest Designing for My Craft Spot - Christmas Inspiration

Happy Friday!

I'm so excited to be joining in on the fun at My Craft Spot again as a Guest Designer. Thank you so much Kimberly and the MCS DT.

I just loved the last couple of stamp releases at MCS and couldn't help but to make a couple of Christmas projects to highlight some of the newest Christmas stamps.

First I made this sweet street lamp that I imagine must be in front of Santa's cottage.

For the sign, I used stamps from the Naughty or Nice set and the Tiny Tags Christmas set. I also used the Chalkboard Sentiments Fall for the flourishes and dotted line. I did a bit of masking to only use the portion of the stamps that I wanted.

For my 2nd project, I made some Christmas Gift Card Holders.

Of course, the Tiny Tags Christmas set is perfect for these.

The finished policy style envelope that I used here measures about 2 1/2" x 3 3/4".

I have made about 20 of these and have used an assortment of stamps from the set on them even though I only have two samples pictured here.

Scarecrow Treat Box Using Orange Truffle Trendy Twine

As I wrapped up October, I also wrapped up my time as a Trendy Little Sister. And though that could be sad, it's not!!! Why? Because now I am a full fledge Trendy Gal. That's right!

I have been asked to stay on the Trendy Twine team along with my fellow sisters, Beth and Tammy!

And today is my first post as we kick off the November challenge!

Fall Foliage - Autumn or Thanksgiving theme, foliage, & Trendy Twine.

Here is my project using Orange Truffle Trendy Twine:

My Scarecrow Treat Box is from My Scrap Chick! I plan on leaving this in the dining room and stashing notes in it for my kids to find after school during the month of November. I want my kiddos to always know that I am thankful for them!!! And what better time to take an opportunity to teach them more about being thankful as we all turn our minds towards the Thanksgiving holiday.

To put this together, I cut out the pieces from the Scarecrow file and assembled it. I then added twine around my box and used it to decorate my scarecrow. I cut a leaf from the Autumn Leaves Trio file also from MSC. I stamped my sentiment using Punkin Patch stamps Heirloom Traditions set onto the leaf and used pop dots to attach it to the front of the box. My dp for the front and side panels is from Doodlebug Designs Happy Harvest 6x6 paper pack.
