My Craft Spot - Guest Designer

What an exciting day! I am thrilled and absolutely honored to be a guest designer at

My Craft Spot!
A few months ago, I found Kimberly's blog and store and I was instantly delighted. Her stamps and die sets are wonderful! and I knew immediately that I would have to add some of them to my crafting supplies.

Prize Alert: One set of My Craft Spot stamps will be given away. See the bottom of this post for all the details.

Today I am showcasing three stamp sets for you.

The first is
Happy Easter

http://iliketocreate.blogspot.com/
I don't know about all of you, but I am ready for spring and for Easter. And what a special holiday Easter is! Easter means life after death and all that has laid dormant through the winter months cry out the truth of it. Flowers bloom, babies are born, and the vibrant colors of spring decorate the landscape. So in honor of all the joy that Spring and Easter bring, I have made a set of colorful 3.5" square mini cards that my kids will give to their teachers. The little chick is attached to an Action Wobble so every time you make the chick wobble, its little eyes roll around. So fun!  I took the Happy Easter sentiment from the set and snipped it in half. Oh no, do not gasp with shock. It is ok to take the sentiment apart and experiment with the layout of the stamp. By snipping the sentiment in half, I was able to get it to stamp on my banner the way I wanted it to.

Ingredients for making this card:
Cardstock: Papertrey Ink and Bazzill
Designer Paper: Doodlebug Design's Hello Spring
Action Wobble: Royal Shoppe
Ink Pads: Memento and Studio G
Misc: Googly Eyes

To make this cute Easter Chick card start by cutting a piece of white cardstock 3.5" x 7". Score the cardstock in half to make a 3.5" square card. Next pick a piece of designer paper of your choice and cut a square at 3.25"x 3.25". Ink the edges. Cut the chick svg out with its beak, ink the edges of both pieces, and glue the beak on. Then take googly eyes and attach them with glue. Cut the svg banner from Miss Kate Cuttables (or use a banner of your choice) and stamp on the sentiment. Assemble by attaching the square dp to the card base using a tape runner. Place the chick on an Action Wobble and attach it toward the top of the card leaving enough room for the banner. If you do not have Action Wobbles, just pop dot it instead so that you still have some dimension on your card. Next center the banner and attach it with pop dots. Easy peasy and so adorable!!!

The second stamp set is

Here is another set of 3.5" square mini cards with another cute chick! I gave a sneak peek of these earlier this week.

Here are the ingredients for this one:
Tag and Sentiment Stamp: My Craft Spot - Tiny Tags
Cardstock: Papertrey Ink, Bazzill, and American Craft
Designer Paper: Doodlebug Design's Hello Spring
Action Wobble: Royal Shoppe
Eyes: Peachy Keen Stamps Winter Face Assortment
Twine: Trendy Twine - Strawberry Cupcake, Grape Fizz, and Bubblegum Taffy

To make this cute Easter Chick card start with the same base as the last one. Cut out the 3.25" square piece of Designer Paper, but do not attach it to the card base yet. Now cut out the chick svg, ink the pieces, and assemble the bottom of the egg to the chick's face. Glue on the beak. Now you will want to tape off the beak on the Peachy Keen stamp (the penguin face that is 3/4") and ink up only the eyes and brows. Peel the tape and stamp the eyes right above the beak. Now glue on the top of the eggshell. Attach the chick to the left side of the designer paper with your Action Wobble or pop dots. For the tag, stamp the tag and then the sentiment, fussy cutting around the tag. Take your twine and wrap it around the right side of your DP 3x. Attach your tag to the ends and then tie a bow. Now that all has been assembled, attach the DP to the cardstock and you are done.

The third is from Kimberly's newest release (March '14). It is

Simply Sentiments

This set has so many awesome sayings for a multitude of occasions! Spring is beautiful, but it also has its rain showers. I think the sentiment I am using here goes perfectly with the feel of this card. When it rains, put on your rain boots!!! When life gets difficult, it is faith that gives us protection.

I did not take a picture of it; but on the inside, I stamped the sentiment "Praying for You" from the same set.

Ingredients for this card:
Cardstock: Papertrey Ink
Designer Cardstock: Carta Bella - Alphabet Junction
SVG Card File: SVGCuts Bunny Hop Kit
Embossing Folder: Cuttlebug - Divine Swirls
Misc: Rhinestone Embellies from HL

This card is easy as well even though it looks involved. Well the outside is anyway. For the inside there is an option to make it a pop up but I'm not always good at lining up the center of those things and I like it better plain on the inside anyway. To make this card, just follow the assembly instructions found on the PDF or watch the assembly video that is listed with the kit. Once you have cut your pieces; ink the edges, emboss the middle layer of your cloud, and assemble. Then add a few embellishments to finish it off.

I hope you have enjoyed my cards. I enjoyed making them and using these great stamps from My Craft Spot.

Now for a prize!
To win your own set of stamps from My Craft Spot all you have to do is leave a comment letting me know which set of stamps is your favorite from the My Craft Spot Store. I will be picking a random winner on March 31st.

Many Blessings to You

Sweet Easter Chick Treat Box

So excited about my post today! Today is my Design Team day for

http://iliketocreate.blogspot.com/

I just can't help it; I am still giddy about being on this team. I have been a huge fan of this company for years and now I get to work with them! So awesome!!!

My project today incorporates two files. I made the Pour Box and decorated it with a sweet chick from the Easter Chicks collection.

http://iliketocreate.blogspot.com/

This is a super sweet box all decorated up for Easter. I enlarged the box to the largest size I could fit on my cutting mat. I then pieced the image of the chick together on my virtual cutting mat and sized it according to how big I wanted it on the side of the box. The box probably measures about 4 inches high this way. The box cuts in one piece. Just score and fold (adding a bit of glue of course. LOL!)!

http://iliketocreate.blogspot.com/

Kristi and Val designed the spout on the side to be hinged allowing it to open and close. This box could be filled up with so many different kinds of good treats. It would make a great teacher gift, bus driver gift, for a co-worker, or maybe the perfect box of treats for your hubby! So many possibilities and easy to put together.

Other ingredients include:
DP: Doodlebug Design's Hello Spring collection
Cardstock: Bazzill (except for the pink egg which is a misc. piece from my stash)
Twine: The Twinery
Tag and Sentiment: My Craft Spot Tiny Tags

http://iliketocreate.blogspot.com/

I, of course, inked the edges of my project (I use a lot of Memento inks, but I also used some misc. inks for this project.) I finished the tag off with a tiny jewel from my stash (HL) and used my white gel pen to add some doodling to give the image a bit more dimension.

I hope you will give this project a try. If you do, I would enjoy seeing your projects. You can share them with me on my FB page at M Miranda Creations.

And of course we want to see all your My Scrap Chick projects on the My Scrap Chick FB fan page.

Hope you have enjoyed my Easter Treat Box and hope you will come back by again real soon!

Blessings,

Easter Chick

I'm wobbling again this Tuesday morning! with

Action Wobble

Signs of spring are showing up even if it doesn't feel like it here in Ohio at 19 degrees when I woke up. Yesterday the sun was shining and there was these little snow flurries coming down at the same time. But nothing has been sticking and the huge snow piles are melting. And the grass is there. So nice to live in a place where grass just grows after having spent many years in West Texas and Eastern New Mexico.

Ok, enough rambling!!! With spring comes Easter!!!

And today I have the cutest little Easter chick to share with you!

My daughter is loving this chick's little wobble!

The card is 3.5 x 3.5. It is a preview of a couple of card sets that I will be posting this Friday. I hope you will stop back by then and see some more Spring/Easter sweetness!

Precious Little Baby

Today I have a DT project for

Simply Create Too

Our Theme: Animals
Please visit the challenge blog and share all your Animal Creations with us!

This week I used a file from My Scrap Chick. I like using their Trio sets. These never disappoint and come with a variety of options for your crafting needs. Often in these sets you will find some kind of box with a matching card and gift tag or maybe a treat topper. Sometimes they include a scrapbook page. There are lots of animal themes for these trios, but also many other themes as well such as the Train Trio.
Today I am working with the Elephant Belly Box Trio.
I decided to use the card to make a baby card for a pretty special little girl that is on her way. I am so excited for the parents of this sweet baby! The baby is due in May and I can hardly wait!

Here is my card.

My cardstock base comes from a paper warehouse near my home. I can buy precut A2 size pieces in a variety of colors for 3 cents each. It is so nice to just score and fold.

The DP is Debbie Mumm's Baby Girl. It is a stack that was created for JoAnn Fabrics and Crafts. I have had it awhile so I am not sure if it is still available.

My grey and pink cardstock for the elephant is American Crafts (AC).

I used Valentine Cherry Cupcake from Trendy Twine to add my tag.

My tag and sentiment comes from My Craft Spot and is from
the Tiny Tags collection. I first stamped the tag and cut it out and then stamped the sentiment. I used Papertrey Ink's Raspberry Fizz ink.

The chalk on her cheeks are from Stampin' Up. They are called Stampin' Pastels. I have had them for such a long time and they are still my go to for chalks. Not even sure if Stampin' Up still carries them.

I hope you enjoyed the card and that you will stop by my blog often. Let's be friends. Hit the follower button at the top right and leave a comment letting me do so, and then I will stop by yours and do the : same.

Butterfly Flutterby!

It's Sunday, and all the crafty peeps at
613 Avenue Create
are celebrating National Craft Month by using up our stash!

I have enjoyed bringing you cut file projects the last couple of months and this week is no exception. Today I am using a file from The Cutting CafĂ©.

This is the Butterfly Treat Box.

http://iliketocreate.blogspot.com/

http://iliketocreate.blogspot.com/

I'm so ready for Spring!!! My first winter in the North in 14 years has been brutal. I did some altering of the file and I love the way it turned out. It has a nice shabby chic look to it in my opinion!

http://iliketocreate.blogspot.com/

I cut off the top two butterflies on the back piece of the box. It made it simpler for me to add some goodies.

http://iliketocreate.blogspot.com/

I also scaled down one of the butterflies and added it to the handle.

The cardstock and textured cream paper is from a bulk discount paper store here in the Cleveland area. I can buy cardstock for $1.50 a pound. Woo Hoo!!! In fact, I need to make a trip back. The store is probably 30-40 minutes away, but well worth the drive.

The DP is My Mind's Eye Lost and Found Two Blush. It is a 6x6 paper pad that I have had laying around for more than 6 months. I used Trendy Twine's Posy for an antenna for the bottom butterfly and to attach the charm to the ribbon. All of the other embellishments are from my stash. I dug through all my jars to find just the right button and all the gems and pearls are usually bought in bulk from HL or Michaels and I use them until they are gone.

A great big thank you to Rick St. Dennis for sponsoring our challenge this week.

Thank you for coming by. I hope you will pop up to the top right sidebar and hit the follower button. I really enjoy making new crafting friends. If you follow and leave a comment letting me know that you did so, then I will stop by your blog and do the same.

Blessings,
