Jaded Blossom August Release Blog Hop!

Hey Everyone! 

Welcome to Jaded Blossom's August 2016 Release Blog Hop.

Now if you're here from Mel's Blog then you're in the right place; but if you're just passing through, start at the beginning because you don't want to miss anything.  I also have the complete line up at the bottom.
I decided to make two projects for you today. 
The first is a Birthday Gift Set:

My youngest is turning 8 in a couple of weeks and I thought I'd use the new balloon border die from Border Dies 2 to make a fun and bright gift bag with a matching card. I used a couple different collections of paper from Doodlebug Design. I used lots of Jaded Blossom Goodies on these - the new Border Dies 2, Rectangle Dies 1, Rectangle Dies 2, Alphabet Dies, Candy Charms and Banner Dies, and the new Happy Hello stamp set. I love how easy it is to emboss the stamps from Happy Hello. The cardstock base for the card is Papertrey Ink's Pure Poppy. The svg file for the bag is from SVG Cuts' Happy Holidays Kit.

My second project came together in my mind as I kept contemplating the cloud border dies also in the new Border Dies 2 set. Halloween is my uncontested favorite holiday. Ghost and Goblins, oh my!!!

I used several dies from Jaded Blossom - Rectangle Dies 1, Border Dies 2, Halloween Dies, and Spring Dies 2 - cutting each one out with watercolor paper. I then used Distress Ink to add all the color. The Distress colors used are Dusty Concord, Chipped Sapphire, Mustard Seed, Wild Honey, and Black Soot. The Happy Halloween sentiment was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. And the cute ghost face is from Peachy Keen Stamps (PK-1410). The cardstock base is Papertrey Ink's True Black.

Favorite Hipster! Jaded Blossom January Release Day 3

How about a cheer for Wednesday!!! 

It is Day 3 of Jaded Blossom's January Release and today we are showcasing "100% Hipster."

I just love this stamp set! There will be so many fun uses for it!!!

I made a gift bag using SVG Cuts Happy Holidays kit. I reduced the size and cut it out with Doodlebug Designs' new collection - Sweet Things.  I then cut 2 panels for the front of the bag - one in white and the other in matching paper from the bag. I adhered both to the front of the gift bag. I then pieced together my Leggies Strawberry file from Treasure Box Designs. Her face was stamped using Peachy Keen's stamps PKSC-33. And, of course, it was all dressed up with my Jaded Blossom products. I die cut 2 different banner dies from the Mini Tag Dies 2 set and layered them after stamping 'favorite hipster' to the top layer. I then die cut a tag from the Mini Tag 2 Dies as well, this time stamping it with 'Totes Adorbs'. I tied it to the handles of my bag using some Trendy Twine. This bag is absolutely adorable and is just short of 6" high finished. Strawberry is about 5.5" high finished.

Treasure Box Design's Howl-O-Ween Blog Hop

I used the Little Gems Pumpkin Kids from Treasure Box Designs for my project. They are just adorable!!!

Both cards were made using Doodlebug Design's paper from the Ghouls and Goodies collection and the October 31 collection. For the banners, I used a Spellbinder's die and stamped them with a sentiment from Scrappy Mom's Stamps. To finish off the little girl, I used a bit of Trendy Twine to make bows for her shoes. The mouths were both stamped using Peachy Keen face stamps.

Let It Snow Snowman Bear Gift Bag!

How about another cute gift bag? This one is using a fun file from

 

KaDoodle Bug Designs!

 

One of Melissa's newest files is Fun in the Snow. I think these bears are absolutely adorable.

  I used the Snowman Bear on my gift bag.

 

 I started by sizing my bear in my Silhouette software to the size I needed so that it would fit on my bag. (The bag was sized to the largest size I could make it on my virtual mat.) I cut the pieces and put my bear together. I used paper from Carta Bella's Merry and Bright collection. I then took another piece of the patterned paper from the collection and cut out my gift bag. The gift bag is from SVG Cutting Files Dinosaur Handled Bag file. Once my bag was cut and assembled, I added the Snowman Bear file with pop dots. I then die cut a banner from the Spellbinder's Pennant set, added my sentiment from Peachy Keen Stamps Christmas Greeting Words set and some Totally Natural Trendy Twine, and attached it to the bag as well. I also attached a snowflake from a Martha Stewart punch I have. So excited to have made two adorable gift bags this week. See Monday's post for the other one.

Guest Designing for Jaded Blossom - Elf with Sign Gift Bag

Happy Sunday, friends!!! Today I am Guest Designing with Jaded Blossom. I want to send a huge thank you to Candace and Michelle for the opportunity.

 

I find myself needing gift bags of all types and sizes as Christmas approaches, so I thought I would share one with you. I think it turned out super cute and I hope you like it too.

 

 

 

I decided to start with a file that I go back to time and time again. It is the Dinosaur Handled Bag from SVG Cutting Files. I really like the shape of this bag and it is so super easy to assemble. I used a sheet of patterned paper from the Christmas Cottage collection by Teresa Collins. For the elf, I used a file that I have had for a while from Little Scraps of Heaven Designs called Christmas Elf with Sign. He has been on my list to make for a couple of Christmas's now, so I am glad I finally did. (Unfortunately I could not find him in the store now. Sorry about that.) His face is from the Peachy Keen Christmas in July Face Assortment. Before attaching the little guy to the bag, I wrapped the bag with a piece of crinkle ribbon and tied a bow. I then threaded my button with some Holly Berry Trendy Twine and again tied that into a bow and attached it to the ribbon. I finished it all off with a sentiment from Jaded Blossom. I used a stamp from the Christmas Wishes set. This stamp set is one of my favorites and I go back to it over and over again as well.

Well after finishing up the bag, I couldn't help but think that the little guy would also make for a sweet gift card holder too; so back to the crafting table I went!

 

 

 I again used pattern paper from the Christmas Cottage collection and cut out a policy envelope cut file (not sure where I got this one from). The envelope measures 2 1/2"x3 3/4". I decided to change the elf up by reversing the colors and of course finished him off with another sentiment from the Christmas Wishes stamp set from Jaded Blossom.

Treating Frankie Lollipop Holder

Top of the morning to you!!! Is everyone ready for the big Trick or Treat day tomorrow.

 

I'm finishing up treats for my kiddos to take to school. And today I want to share with you a new set of lollipop holders I have made. These are for the teachers.

 

 

I made 8 in all using a cut file from KaDoodle bug Designs Spooky Friends set. And, of course, they needed some Peachy Keen faces.

Witchy Ghost Lollipop Cover!

Looking for an extra special treat to send with the kiddos to school for Halloween?

Well, then look no further!

I have a Trendy Twine post for you today!

I combined the Orange Limeade Trendy Twine with a cut file from KaDoodle Bug Designs

and came up with this cute treat:

I took this pattern from the Witchy Ghosts set at KaDoodle Bug Designs and created a Lollipop Cover in my Silhouette software. I then pieced together the design on the front of the cover adding a few different Peachy Keen faces. To finish, I took a strand of Orange Limeade Trendy Twine, stuck my Dum Dum Lollipop inside the cover, and threaded the twine through the holes. I tied the twine in a bow to hold the lollipop securely in the cover. As there are only 5 cardstock pieces to this project, it would be easy peasy to make a multitude of these for your child's class.

And just a note: I tried both white cardstock and Vintage Cream cardstock for the ghost and found that I liked the finished look so much better with the cream cardstock.

Halloween Badge!

Do you want an alternative this Halloween to the traditional treat bag for your child's class?

 

Well then I have an idea for you using files from KaDoodle Bug Designs!

 

 

How about making these badges! I cut the badge from the Giddy Up Cowboy set four layers thick for durability. Before attaching the fourth layer on the back, I punched two holes and thread a safety pin into the holes. Once I glued the fourth layer on, the safety pin held in place. For the ghost, I used the Witchy Ghosts file. I cut it out without the star and the face pieces. After piecing the ghost together, I added a Peachy Keen stamp for her face. There are some ghosts in the set that will work for boys as well. Not only would these be fun for your child's class, but they would make cute party favors for your Halloween parties.

The Witches Come Out to Play!

It is that time of year when the witches come out to play!!!
 

 

I have another project for you using a KaDoodle Bug Designs file.

 

Again I have used the No Place Like Home file. The wicked witch doesn't look so wicked anymore! She just needed a bit of a makeover.

 

 

 The background paper used for this card is old and I have no idea what it is called or who made it. I had bought a monthly kit from Taylored Expressions forever ago and it was one of the papers in it. In fact, I had put this card base together last year when I was doing another Halloween project and did not use it. When going through things in my stash the other day, I saw it and it was begging to be finished. I also went through a bag of simple die cuts that has been laying around from past projects and found the spider web. I think the cut for it came from MKC, but I can't be certain. So this is what I do know, the droopy goo die is from Martha Stewart. The button with the spider at the top is from the $1 bin at Pat Catan's (local craft store). And the cute witch is from KaDoodle Bug Designs and she was pieced together late Wednesday night. Too late in fact!!! LOL!!!!!!

 

I used my Cameo to cut all the pieces, inked them with Memento and Papertrey Inks inks, and pieced her together. I finished her off with some doodling and a sweet Peachy Keen face. She was adhered to the card using pop dots as was the button. The sentiment is from Scrappy Moms Stamps - the Bewitched set. And if I might say so myself, she turned out so very cute!!! I love what Peachy Keen faces do for my piecings!!!

So Thankful for You!

 

It is Fall Y'all! Or at least it feels like it in my part of the country. Temps are in the 60's and the leaves are starting to change colors.

 

Today, I have a card for you using a file from KaDoodle Bug Designs called No Place Like Home.

I had to take the scarecrow off of the Yellow Brick Road.

 

 

The card is a basic A2 size with a background paper from Doodlebug's Happy Harvest from 2013. I enlarged the scarecrow in my Silhouette DE software to fit the front. As I cut the pieces, I inked my edge for that much needed dimension (I can't make a card without doing it!). For the face, I dug through my Peachy Keen face assortments and decided on the Christmas in July Face set. To finish off the scarecrow, I inked the cheeks and added some doodling with my white gel pen.

 

The sentiment had to be something to reflect fall and I think we always associate fall with gratitude, right?! For this, I die cut a Spellbinders' Scalloped Oval and stamped it using My Craft Spot's Simply Sentiment stamp set. After inking the edge of the die, I added the Chocolate Truffle Trendy Twine bow. Both the scarecrow and the sentiment were then pop dotted to the front of the card.

Clowning Around

Craftin' Desert Divas is in the middle of another Linky Party and I am joining in the fun using a cute file from My Scrap Chick.

 

The theme: A Sketch

 

 

This is what I came up with.

 

 

Using DP from Bo Bunny and Doodlebug Design, I was able to put together the base of my card. I pieced together my clown using cardstock from Papertrey Ink, Bazzill, and American Crafts. The clown and balloon cut files are from My Scrap Chick. The clown's face is from Peachy Keen Stamps. The sentiment is from Craftin' Desert Divas and is inked to a die shape from Spellbinders. And there are two kinds of Trendy Twine added in the mix as well. The square, clown, sentiment die, and balloons are all attached with pop dots to give dimension. And I finished it off with a bit of doodling with my white gel pen. I will share some of the links with you.
