Red, White, and Blue!

The Red, White, and Blue Linky Party is happening right now at

Here is a bit of inspiration for you.

I was digging through an old storage container from when I first started scrapbooking almost 20 years ago, and found some 8 1/2" x 11" pieces of scrapbook paper including the background sheet I used for my card. It is called Blue Stars. This piece of paper was manufactured by Paper Pizazz (Hot Off the Press) back in 1997. When I saw it, I thought it is about time this gets used! LOL!

It makes a great background for this super sweet cut file called International Beauty America by Treasure Box Designs. I added a firework from the 4th of July Banners by Miss Kate Cuttables and topped with some Trendy Twine. Then I finished off with my sentiment from Craftin' Desert Divas. This is from the stamp set called Celebrate Freedom. Links are posted below.

If you are looking for a few more ideas for the 4th of July, this is a quick and easy project that would look cute on the front of a gift bag or even used on a banner as well!

Party Monster/New Design Team - KaDoodle Bug Design

Exciting News! I am now designing for KaDoodle Bug Designs. Yeah!

Today I have a cute card to share with you using the KaDoodle Bug Designs' Party Monsters set. It is also the mid post for the current Linky Party at Craftin' Desert Divas. This party we are asking you to make a project using your favorite color (you can use several shades of your favorite color or you can use an accent color or two as long as your favorite color is the dominating color). Hope you will link your creation to the Linky Party!

My Favorite Color is Blue!!!

This little monster makes a super cute birthday card! The balloons, banner, and star are all included in the Party Monster set. The paper is from the Hip Hip Hooray line by Doodlebug Design. I really like the color combo the paper uses!!!

Guest Designer - Trendy Twine "Celebration"

I could not be more excited about today!

Today I have a Guest Design Project over on the Trendy Twine blog.

This month the theme is Birthdays and the girls over there are sharing projects all month long using the Celebration twine. This is such a fun color with so many possibilities. And this month both the Celebration spool and the Celebration mini set are on sale.

I am always looking for creative ways to let my kiddos know that they are loved. And these cute door hangers would be so fun to hang on their doors the morning of their birthdays, holidays, or just because. Thank you to Cheryl, my teammate over at My Scrap Chick, for the inspiration. Stop by her blog to see her versions of the door hanger.

As I was putting these together, I also thought hanging one of these on a child's door could be the first clue of many clues when you want to announce to your kids that the family is headed to Disney. How exciting would that be!

I used the Door Hanger with Pocket file from My Scrap Chick. The Mickey cut file is no longer available, so I do not have a link for it. The Minnie Mouse file is available at Miss Kate Cuttables though and I will share a link below. I hope you will give this project a try or come up with your own design for a cute door hanger using Trendy Twine.

Dog Tag

There is a new challenge at

Theme: #63 Celebrate Your Country

We have design members on our team from several different countries, and we know that those entering our challenges are just as diverse; so for the next two weeks, we would love to see a card that uses the Colors of Your Country. Your project does not have to be patriotic; but since I have been in the patriotic mood the last couple of weeks, I have made another card to share with you that would be great for thanking a serviceman. Today 70 years ago was D-Day. On that day, many lost their lives trying to bring freedom to the oppressed. I ask you today, who are you willing to die for? Are you willing to give everything to free someone from the grips of oppression?

Galatians 5:1 - For freedom Christ has set us free

My Scrap Chick came out with a set of Dog Tag Cards last week, and upon seeing them I knew I would have to give one a try. There are three cards in the set and I will probably be making the other two before long! I really like how this one turned out!

The Thank You at the bottom of my card cut out so nicely on my new Cameo. I am really starting to get the hang of my new machine. Yeah!

Here is a close-up of the sentiment I used. It is from the Celebrate Freedom set from Craftin' Desert Divas.

I am on my last piece of this striped paper that I have been using on many of my patriotic cards lately. I'm sad about it as it is hard for me to find papers I really like for certain holidays, and the Fourth of July is one of those holidays. Hopefully there is enough for the last two cards in the Dog Tag cards set!

Supplies Used:
My Scrap Chick: Dog Tags Card Set
Craftin' Desert Divas: Celebrate Freedom Stamp Set
TPC Studio: Heartfelt Travel Stripe

I hope you have enjoyed my card. Can't wait to see your card or project on the Simply Create Too Challenge Blog.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you will return soon!

Blessings,

Enjoy the Moment

Ever wonder why the crab gives himself such a bad rap? I just can't understand why he is so crabby when he gets to live at the beach. I would take his place in a minute!!! He just needs to learn to enjoy the moment!

This is both my Action Wobble bi-weekly Tuesday post and a DT post for My Scrap Chick.

The cut file is a complete card from My Scrap Chick and the wobble has been placed
behind the crab.

The sentiment is from Craftin' Desert Divas Picture This Stamp Set.

This card is super easy and quick to put together. You just have to watch out for Mr. Crab's pinchers because they move super fast on an Action Wobble.

Supplies Used:
The Scrapbooking Queen: Action Wobble
My Scrap Chick: Sam's Class Crab Card
Craftin' Desert Divas: Picture This Stamp Set
Googly Eyes
Various Cardstock from my Scrap Stash
(It is time to use up the scraps instead of constantly reaching for a new piece of paper.)

Thanks for stopping by!

Blessings,
