Thankful for You Fall Card!

It's Wednesday and it is time for another challenge at Craftaholics R Us. This week's theme is Thank You! I went with a Thankful for You card.

I used a set of leaf stamps from Bo Bunny and stamped them onto a piece of cardstock from Papertrey Ink that was diecut with a Stitched Rectangle die from Jaded Blossom. I used the same cardstock for my card base and attached a piece of patterned paper from Doodlebug Design. The Thankful for You stamp is from Jaded Blossom as well.

I can't wait to see what you make for this week's challenge!

Blessings,

Trading Cards! Jaded Blossom June Release Day 5!

One last stamp set to share today for Day 5 of the Jaded Blossom June Release.

Today we are sharing Trading Cards and it is this month's freebie!

I decided to use it to make these sweet little gift bags! I used the Goody Bag Die for the bag and then I though it would be fun to show the versatility of this idea with 3 different sentiments.

The You're Invited sentiment from Invitations Galore would make a fun way to invite friends to a party. Why not give them that bag of candy to get them excited about the party! Hehehe!!!

The Thank You sentiment from the Fired Up stamp set is the perfect way to say thank you to everyone who showed up at your party.

And the Happy Birthday sentiment from So Many Birthdays 3 makes this bag perfect to take along with you if you are headed to a birthday party.

I stamped and embossed all 3 of these and though it is easier to see the copper embossing powder in the photo, I really like the softer look of the white embossing powder. The paper is from Authentique's Sweetness collection.

Here is today's reveal:

Trading Cards (June Freebie)

Head over to the Jaded Blossom Blog for more inspiration using this stamp set and then...

Come back later today for the Jaded Blossom Release Blog Hop at 6 pm Central time to see how you can get this month's freebie!

Blessings,

You are My Purrson! 5 Days of Baby Buddies w/ Treasure Box Designs!

I am so excited to be teaming up with Treasure Box Designs again for another 5 day series of inspiration using files from the TBD store.

This time around we are sharing

Today is Day 2!
To see the winner from Day 1, please scroll down one post.

I want to show you some really fun ways to use these files on cards and maybe on some other projects over the next 5 days. Baby Buddies will look awesome on baby projects for sure and some time this week I will have a project or two showing just that, but I also want to show you some other ways to use them. Today's card will show you a fun way to use them for a nursing theme.

Today, I am sharing a gift set that is perfect for those in the nursing profession. Have you been in the hospital lately or someone you love? Did you have that nurse that you never wanted her (or his) shift to come to an end? You know, it is the one who became your person. The nurse you always looked for and hoped would come when you rang the button. Or maybe you have a nurse at your doctor's office that is just the best like the one at my kiddo's pediatric office; and every time you go in, you hope she is there because she makes you feel comfortable. And maybe you want a way to say thank you to this favorite nurse. Then today's project is definitely for you!!!

It is so important that we say Thank You to those who work in community service professions. We would be in a tough spot without them!!!

For this set, I used the cat from the Baby Buddies Cat and Dog file along with the ER Visit file for the nursing gear. I just sized my cat to fit both my bag and another to fit my card and then I made sure the hats and the stethoscopes were sized to work with both of them. The little bag is the perfect size for some candies and a gift card!!!

You can get the Baby Buddies Cat and Dog file here

And you can get the ER Visit file here.

Prize Alert!!!
Now what would 5 days of fun inspiration be without prizes. One lucky comment on this post will win one Baby Buddies file of choice. There are 8 files to choose from with 2 animals in each file.

How to WIN:
1. Leave a comment here letting me know what community service professional you think deserves a thank you for the hard work they do.

That's it!!! Tomorrow I will announce the winner at 5:45 pm eastern time.

And then be looking at 6 pm for tomorrow's project using another of the fun Baby Buddies files.

Thank you for joining us!
(Below you will find a complete list of all supplies used on this project.)

You can see lots more inspiration from Treasure Box Designs on the FB page.

Thank You to Our Service Men and Women

Today I am posting for Trendy Twine. The Trendy Gals have been sharing projects all month long on the Trendy Twine blog using the Stars and Stripes Trendy Twine and the Kraft Pillow Boxes.
For my project, I wanted to make something I could use to thank those who serve. Or it could even be given to a hostess for a 4th of July gathering. I am using the Medium Kraft Pillow Box for this.

The card is A2 size. For this card, I wanted the twine to be the focal point, so I did not add my usual paper piecing on top of the patterned paper. I wanted my Stars and Stripes Twine to pop off the card instead.  The border is cut from a Martha Stewart punch. Over the border, I wrapped three lengths of twine and tied them with a bow. The sentiment is from Jaded Blossom. For my Medium Kraft Pillow Box, I decorated it by wrapping it several times with the twine. I then added a set of stars from SVG Cuts. The banner was cut from a Spellbinders die and again the sentiment is from Jaded Blossom. This box will be perfect for adding a treat, a small gift, or gift card. Together it will make a wonderful gift set for anyone this 4th of July as we celebrate freedom, but especially for those who serve.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you will also visit my Facebook and Pinterest pages or find me on Instagram @mmirandacreations.

Blessings,

So Thankful for You!

It is Fall Y'all! Or at least it feels like it in my part of the country. Temps are in the 60's and the leaves are starting to change colors.

Today, I have a card for you using a file from KaDoodle Bug Designs called No Place Like Home.
I had to take the scarecrow off of the Yellow Brick Road.

The card is a basic A2 size with a background paper from Doodlebug's Happy Harvest from 2013. I enlarged the scarecrow in my Silhouette DE software to fit the front. As I cut the pieces, I inked my edge for that much needed dimension (I can't make a card without doing it!). For the face, I dug through my Peachy Keen face assortments and decided on the Christmas in July Face set. To finish off the scarecrow, I inked the cheeks and added some doodling with my white gel pen.

The sentiment had to be something to reflect fall and I think we always associate fall with gratitude, right?! For this, I die cut a Spellbinders' Scalloped Oval and stamped it using My Craft Spot's Simply Sentiment stamp set. After inking the edge of the die, I added the Chocolate Truffle Trendy Twine bow. Both the scarecrow and the sentiment were then pop dotted to the front of the card.

Supplies Used:
KaDoodle Bug Designs: No Place Like Home
Trendy Twine: Chocolate Truffle
My Craft Spot: Simply Sentiments
Doodlebug Designs: Happy Harvest 6x6 paper pad (2013)

Floppy Bear

Nothing is better than a sweet freebie!

Little Scraps of Heaven offered a freebie on Wednesday to anybody who would make a project and post it to their site by yesterday. I finished mine just in the knick of time last night and shared it on the LSHD fan page; but I want to share it here with all of you as well!

This little sweetie is called Floppy Bear and even though it is no longer free, it is available in the Little Scraps of Heaven store. It was super easy to piece and oh so adorable. I decided I wanted my bear to be a girl, so I gave her a bow using Totally Natural Trendy Twine. The bear was cut using Tim Holtz Core'dinations and American Craft Cardstock. The background paper is from Doodlebug Designs new fall line called Friendly Forest. I really enjoy the color palette used by this company. So bright and fun!!! I made this a Thank You card using the Jaded Blossom Simple Sayings stamp set.

The bear was inked with Color Box inks with two shades of browns. The eyes and nose were inked with Memento Tuxedo black (Memento is my favorite ink by far). I used some Stamp' UP chalks that I have had forever around the eye and then used my Micron 005 pen to draw lashes. I also chalked the cheeks with some pink. To finish it off and to make the eyes come alive, I used my white Gelly Roll pen to add some details.

Super easy and super cute!!!

Thank you for stopping by today! I'm always glad when you take a moment to drop in!
I invite you to stop by my FB page and Pinterest page as well.

Dog Tag

There is a new challenge at

Theme: #63 Celebrate Your Country

We have design members on our team from several different countries, and we know that those entering our challenges are just as diverse; so for the next two weeks, we would love to see a card that uses the Colors of Your Country. Your project does not have to be patriotic; but since I have been in the patriotic mood the last couple of weeks, I have made another card to share with you that would be great for thanking a serviceman. Today 70 years ago was D-Day. On that day, many lost their lives trying to bring freedom to the oppressed. I ask you today, who are you willing to die for? Are you willing to give everything to free someone from the grips of oppression?

Galatians 5:1 - For freedom Christ has set us free

My Scrap Chick came out with a set of Dog Tag Cards last week, and upon seeing them I knew I would have to give one a try. There are three cards in the set and I will probably be making the other two before long! I really like how this one turned out!

The Thank You at the bottom of my card cut out so nicely on my new Cameo. I am really starting to get the hang of my new machine. Yeah!

Here is a close-up of the sentiment I used. It is from the Celebrate Freedom set from Craftin' Desert Divas.

I am on my last piece of this striped paper that I have been using on many of my patriotic cards lately. I'm sad about it as it is hard for me to find papers I really like for certain holidays, and the Fourth of July is one of those holidays. Hopefully there is enough for the last two cards in the Dog Tag cards set!

Supplies Used:
My Scrap Chick: Dog Tags Card Set
Craftin' Desert Divas: Celebrate Freedom Stamp Set
TPC Studio: Heartfelt Travel Stripe

I hope you have enjoyed my card. Can't wait to see your card or project on the Simply Create Too Challenge Blog.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you will return soon!

Blessings,

Thanks! Just Because

February 17 is National Random Act of Kindness Day and we are celebrating it at

613 Avenue Create

This week we are making cards for our neighbors, mailman, favorite waiter/waitress, hairdresser, etc. Who do you want to do something nice for this week?

Whoever you decide, and whatever you decide to make; come share your project with us!!!

I decided to make a Thank You card to give to one of the families at our church,
Just Because!

The cut file this week is from the Five-Minute Cards kit from SVG Cuts. The paper is a My Mind's Eye Miss Caroline. I used a Spellbinders die with a sentiment from
My Craft Spot's Tiny Tag stamp set.

I hope you will join us; but whether you enter your card or not, help us celebrate National RAK Day by doing something/making something for someone
who just might need a bit of kindness!

Winter Blues

I thank God for another Sunday and another chance to worship Him!

(Blog Candy Winner for the Party Time post can be found here.)

I'm creating something for you again this week at

613 Avenue Create

This week's theme is Anything Goes w/ the optional twist of
"Winter Blues."

This week the cut files for my cards come from My Scrap Chick. The file is called Gift Card Holders for Christmas (there is an option in the file for making a standard card). The tag is from the Fall Tree Gift Tag set and, of course, I only used one layer of the tag and sized it for my needs.

And this card does make a super cute greeting for Christmas!!!

But Snowmen are not just for Christmas. They are everything winter!!!

After whipping up several of these in an afternoon, I went through my stamp sets and found several sentiments that would work for all my winter occasions. Today I am sharing three of those options with you.

You could make up a bunch of these yourself and wait to add the tags until you know what you need to use them for.

The stamps I used today are from Verve Stamps and Jaded Blossom. I hope you will look up both of these stores online and check out their wonderful assortments.

The crochet thread/twine was found at a local store. I just wrapped it around the base of each card 5x and used it to attach the tag.

I hope you have enjoyed today's project.

(I have 5 of these cards for sale. They are $3.50 each plus shipping and handling. Please email me if you are interested. I will be glad to attach a tag that works for your occasion.)
