Halloween Baggie Buddies!

It's another challenge over at Die Cuttin' Divas and another GDT spot for me!

Thank you DCD for letting me join you for two challenges this month.
It has been fun to play along with all of you!

Well it is almost here, so that means this week we will be wrapping up all the Halloween projects. I still have to make treats for my kids to take to school. Yikes!!!

Today I want to share some sweet treat bags with you. If you remember, I had a sneak peek of one of these on my blog last week; but I needed two more to give to my kiddos Halloween day.

These are the (Fall/Halloween) Baggie Buddies from Treasure Box Designs.
I just think they are so stinkin' cute!!! I will have more of these on my list to make for sure!

For the treat bags, I used the Small Candy Sacks from the Trendy Twine store. I filled them up with m&m's. The length of twine around each treat sack and the twine bow is from Trendy Twine. I used both Grape Licorice and Orange Limeade. There are so many great colors over there for this time of year! The tags are cut from the Spellbinders Labels 10 set and my sentiments are from My Craft Spot and Scrappy Mom's Stamps.

Here are some more photos:

Franky was my sneak peek last week.

I really like how they all turned out; and like I said, I know I will be making more of these.

No Place Like Home!

It's time for Challenge #73 at Simply Create Too.

Theme: Shopping in Your Craft Room

That is right - You can not go out and buy anything new for this challenge. Think of it as an opportunity to clear something out of the way and make room for all those goodies that could pop up under the Christmas tree in a couple of months.

Now for my project using paper, embellishments, and twine that was already in my stash.

Any of you remember that old saying - There's No Place Like Home?!

Well then you may just happen to like these cute tags using files from Treasure Box Designs!

These were so fun to make! After piecing together my characters, I attached them to tags that I cut out from a file from My Scrap Chick. I then threaded the ribbon through the tag and secured the ribbon with a button and some Totally Natural twine from Trendy Twine. I used inks, a white gel pen, some chalk, and my Micron pen to add details to all my characters.

Supplies Used:
Treasure Box Designs: Over the Rainbow
Trendy Twine: Totally Natural
My Scrap Chick: Fall Tree Gift Tag
Papertrey Ink: Vintage Cream (Tag Base)
Basic Grey: Lemonade 6x6 Paper Pad (Tag Patterned Paper)
Various Colored Cardstock for my Characters

Here are some close-ups of a few of them:

Christmas Nativity!

It is hard to believe that the seasons are changing, that there is a chill in the air, and that in just a few short months the snow will be piled up in front of my windows and we will be celebrating again the birth of the Lord Jesus. I love this time of year. Right now the trees are trying to hold onto their rust colored leaves, but when the wind blows they cascade down in beautiful dancing patterns. Soon the kids will be marching from house to house trying to get a treat without a trick!

As a crafter, there are so many fun ways to craft in a fashion that highlights all the joys of the next couple of months. But as a believer, that which is most important to me is a reflection on God sending His son in the form of a baby as a guarantee that He is reconciling the whole world to Himself. I am thankful that this story was shared with me and that it changed my life.

Last year, I had a dear friend ask me to make her some tags so that she could spread her joy of Jesus to her friends and family. I made these tags this year for her as well. I have one more set of the paper piecings that will go up on my Etsy shop soon if anyone is interested. They are not attached to tags at this point but could be added. And the set I will be selling is different as each character has faux stitching. I will try to photograph them today and have them in my store by tomorrow. You could also send me an email if you think you are interested.

Joseph, Mary, and Baby Jesus as he lay in the manger.

Two shepherds who came to Jesus while he was yet in Bethlehem in the barn were he was born. They praised God for the birth of this child.

The wise men who saw the star and came from the East to bring gifts when Jesus was a bit older, but no more than two.

The gifts of frankincense, gold, and myrrh. Gifts for a king!

The story is a wonderful story, a story that I hold dear to my heart and know to be true!

KC Royals - The King of Baseball

Baseball Fans, Anyone???

I have been a baseball fan since I was a small girl. From 1979-84', I believe, I was able to go see the minor league team affiliated with the Chicago Cubs at a stadium along the Mississippi River somewhere in the Davenport, IA area. I can still remember thinking I was at Wrigley Field.

While there is still a place in my heart for the Chicago Cubs because of those childhood memories, my hometown is in the Kansas City, MO area. And if you haven't already heard, our KC Royals are going to the World Series for the first time in 29 years. And though I am several hundred miles away from home, I am still rooting for my hometown team!!! Go Royals!

My dear friend, Melissa Deuss of KaDoodle Bug Designs, is the best. I design for her team, so the other day I asked her if she would make me a baseball lion since the Royals mascot is a lion and this is what she came up with. He is so cute!!! This was the freebie this last Monday on the KBD site and is still available a couple of more days. Best thing is that there is also a digi version, a Print n Cut version, and a Print n Piece version available as freebies this week as well. There are also a few other freebies on the page as well. Stop by the store and pick yours up.

Love at First Bite!

I am excited to be a Guest Designer today at Die Cuttin' Divas.

Today's Challenge: Purple and Orange Plus One Other Color

I chose black!

Here is my project:

I used a file from the Silhouette store by Jamie Cripps. I will hang this on my husband's office door on Halloween. For my DP, I used G45 paper. It looks a bit blue in the photo, but I promise it is purple. It is from last year's Happy Haunting collection.

Here is a close-up of the spider on the front.

At the top of the door hanger, I tied a orange bow and added a touch of Grape Licorice Trendy Twine. I used the same twine to tie off my treat bag. It is one of my favorite twine colors!

I filled a treat bag with some black and orange Halloween peanut butter candies.

The sentiments are from My Craft Spot's Batty for You Stamp set. This is a great stamp set with lots of fun sentiments!

Witchy Ghost Lollipop Cover!

Looking for an extra special treat to send with the kiddos to school for Halloween?
Well, then look no further!
I have a Trendy Twine post for you today!
I combined the Orange Limeade Trendy Twine with a cut file from KaDoodle Bug Designs
and came up with this cute treat:

I took this pattern from the Witchy Ghosts set at KaDoodle Bug Designs and created a Lollipop Cover in my Silhouette software. I then pieced together the design on the front of the cover adding a few different Peachy Keen faces. To finish, I took a strand of Orange Limeade Trendy Twine, stuck my Dum Dum Lollipop inside the cover, and threaded the twine through the holes. I tied the twine in a bow to hold the lollipop securely in the cover. As there are only 5 cardstock pieces to this project, it would be easy peasy to make a multitude of these for your child's class.

And just a note: I tried both white cardstock and Vintage Cream cardstock for the ghost and found that I liked the finished look so much better with the cream cardstock.

Nuts About You!

Ok, so I have finally done it! I have taken the plunge and have opened a store.
I couldn't decide if I should use eBay or Etsy, but it finally came down to one simple thing. Ease of use, so Etsy it is!!! I would need a course on listing on eBay for that to succeed. LOL!
So here is my first listing:

These pieces are from the Nuts About You set from KaDoodle Bug Designs.

It is a 3 piece set for scrapbook pages.

I used various quality cardstocks to piece it together. Then I used inks, chalks, and a gel pen to add details. I think the set will make a super cute scrapbook page.

Supplies Used:
KaDoodle Bug Designs: Nuts About Fall
Various Cardstocks from My Stash

Thank you for dropping in today. You can follow me here, find me on FB or Pinterest; and, of course, be looking for my listings in my new Etsy shop, M Miranda Creations.

Fall Card!

I think that fall is the most beautiful time of the year! And I am lucky enough to live in a place where the colors are spectacular. And as I look out my window in my craft area, and see the changing leaves; I can't help but to want to put together projects that reflect what I see.

My Scrap Chick has a file called Fall Card and it is perfect for my mood!

I also used the MSC file called Halloween Treat Boxes for the pumpkin.

I cut and inked all the pieces that came with the Fall Card file. I then stamped my sentiment onto the Vintage Cream Cardstock by Papertrey Ink using a sentiment from My Craft Spot's Chalkboard Sentiments Fall stamp set. As I began to place the pieces, I decided to cut a mat for the sentiment piece to add one more layer of color. Because the sentiment mentions pumpkins, I also decided to reduce the size of the pumpkin from the treat box set and place it on the bottom corner of the card. The pumpkin and the leaves were all attached with pop dots. It was a simple card to put together, but it speaks about fall to me. Best thing is that any sentiment could be stamped on the inside making it useful for fall birthdays, Thinking of You cards, Thank You cards, and so many more.

Soccer Version 1.2

The other day I showed you the card I had made for my son's soccer coach. Well we had two assistant coaches as well, so I made this card for them. Instead of piecing together the soccer ball, I used a Soccer Ball file from Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons.

The DP is Graphic 45. The cardstock is various kinds including Papertrey Ink (card base) and American Crafts. The sentiment is from the Jaded Blossom's Simple Sayings stamp set. I added the twine for a nice finishing touch.

See my post from the other day to see how the soccer ball can be done by piecing together hexagons and info on the original post that inspired me from Pinterest.

Thank you for taking a moment to drop in. It is always appreciated.

Many Blessings,

Cute Puppy!

Here is a birthday card I made the other day.

The card's recipient loves puppies, so I thought the Cute Puppy file from Miss Kate Cuttables would be perfect. I used various brown cardstocks from my stash. The background paper is from my scrap box and is by Glitz Designs. The card base is Vintage Cream by Papertrey Ink and the stamp is from My Craft Spot - Simply Sentiments.

As always, I am happy you stopped in today!!! Thank you!
I invite you to stop by my FB page and Pinterest page as well.

Halloween Badge!

Do you want an alternative this Halloween to the traditional treat bag for your child's class?

Well then I have an idea for you using files from KaDoodle Bug Designs!

How about making these badges! I cut the badge from the Giddy Up Cowboy set four layers thick for durability. Before attaching the fourth layer on the back, I punched two holes and thread a safety pin into the holes. Once I glued the fourth layer on, the safety pin held in place. For the ghost, I used the Witchy Ghosts file. I cut it out without the star and the face pieces. After piecing the ghost together, I added a Peachy Keen stamp for her face. There are some ghosts in the set that will work for boys as well. Not only would these be fun for your child's class, but they would make cute party favors for your Halloween parties.
