Pirates! Challenge #31 - Craftaholics R Us!

It's Challenge time over at Craftaholics R Us Challenge Blog.

Used an Svg File from Cre8tive Cutz. Wasn't the easiest to put together down around the bottom of the boat, but I managed to get it put together without too much trouble. And I think it turned out super cute!!!

The sentiment is from Jaded Blossom's United States Map stamp set. The skull and crossbone file that I used for the flag is from Miss Kate Cuttables. The black twine is Trendy Twine from Annie's Paper Boutique.

The fun paper is the Echo Park Pirates collection. I also used some of the stickers from this collection to decorate the sides of the pirate ship.

Can't wait to see all the pirate goodness you come up with! See you on the Craftaholics R Us Blog.

Blessings,

Spring Greetings!

I don't usually miss my old home in Roswell, NM too often; but when February rolls around and I think about how I could already be wearing flip flops down there, my heart begins to long for the warmer temperatures of that region. But here I am in February wondering when Easter is this year and still wearing my boots and a heavy jacket most days.

So it only seems right to share a spring card as I dream of the warmer days.

And, of course, I have used lots of Jaded Blossom goodies to create it - Scallop Rectangle Dies 2, Rectangle Dies 2, Border Dies 2, Spring Dies 1 (Version 2), Spring Dies 2, and the new Easter Basket Fun stamp set.

My bunny is from Miss Kate Cuttables. The patterned paper is Doodlebug Design. I used a Versamark Watermark stamp pad and Whispers Embossing Powder to add the sentiment.

Hope you will stop by the Jaded Blossom Blog and Jaded Blossom store for more ideas and products as you begin to dream about spring this year!

Blessings,

Just leave a comment on all the blogs along the hop!

The more blogs you comment on the more chances you have to win!

Here's what I created:

My first project is in anticipation of July 4th in just a few days. I love the firework shows!!! So I decided to make some fun treat bags for my kiddos that I can give to them on the holiday. The new rectangle dies make creating a topper so easy!!! I used the Scalloped Rectangle Dies 2 for this one. I also used the Rectangle Dies 2 and Superstar stamp set for my sentiment and the Star Dies for the dark blue stars on the fireworks. The fireworks are from Miss Kate Cuttables and the fun paper is from Doodlebug Design.

Here is a close-up of the topper:

And since July is known to the crafting world as Christmas in July, my 2nd project is a Halloween card. Yes, that's right, I said Halloween. You see, I just couldn't make anything Christmas themed without making something Halloween themed first!!! Does anyone else feel this way?!! LOL!

I love Halloween and some of my favorite JB Dies are the Halloween Dies! This little ghost just makes my heart melt!!!And look at all the fun layers that can be made with the new dies!!! It just looks awesome! To make the card, I used the new Scallop Rectangle Dies 1, new Rectangle Dies 1 and Rectangle Dies 2, Stitched Oval Dies, Halloween Dies, Layered Frame and Journal Die, and Spooky Labels stamp set. The fun patterned papers are from Doodlebug Design, the face stamp is from Peachy Keen Stamps, and the cardstock is Papertrey Ink.

I'm so glad you stopped by today!!! I hope you are enjoying the hop.

Up next is the fab Michelle!

Today we are sharing projects using the new Spring Splatters and Funny Bunny stamp sets.

I have two projects for you today. One for each stamp set.

Spring Splatters

For my card, I used the butterfly splatter to decorate the smaller panel in a soft pink. The background paper is from Authentique's Sweetness 6x6 paper pad and I die cut it with the Jaded Blossom Card Mat Dies. The smaller panel is cut with using the Goody Bag Die. The butterfly is from SVG Cutting Files Kawaii Bug Lollipop Covers set and cut out using more papers from the same Authentique collection. I finished it off by stamping the sentiment Hello from the Jaded Blossom Simple Sayings stamp set. It is and A2 card.

Funny Bunny

I then made a treat bag using my favorite water taffy candies. Yum!!! For the bag topper, I used the Scalloped Slider and Topper Die. I cut the decorative panel using Echo Park's Sunny Days Ahead 6x6 paper pad. The peeking Bunny is from Miss Kate Cuttables. The sentiment banner was die cut using the Mini Tag Dies 2 and stamped with a sentiment from the new Funny Bunny stamp set.

Have a Spooky Day!

Happy Halloween 6th (aka October 6th)! I hope you have enjoyed your Tuesday!!!

This month has been a lot of fun and it is only going to get better. Got a call today that Oma and Papa are coming in two weeks. My kiddos are so excited!!!

I have had a project everyday this month. I don't want to jinx it, but I am really hoping to craft the 31 days of October. This is the tag I have to share today.

This is the Cute Mummy file from Miss Kate Cuttables and he is definitely cute!

I left him the size he imported and then cut a tag to fit him. This tag base comes from a file from My Scrap Chick - Fall Leaf Tag. I used the internal offset function on DE to adjust the top layer of the tag a bit though. The design paper for the top layer is from My Mind's Eye Lost and Found Halloween collection. Once the mummy was pieced together, I used pop dots to attach him to the front of the tag. I then cut out the banner using Spellbinders' Pennant Dies. The sentiment is from the Scrappy Mom's Bewitched stamp set. I really like the combination of the two fonts on this one! The whole set of stamps is way fun though! To attach the ribbon and the button, I used a piece of Totally Natural Trendy Twine from Annie's Paper Boutique. All the cut files were inked with Creamy Brown Color Box chalk to give it some more dimension.

So glad you creeped on by my blog today! I hope you will come back for more spooktacular projects as the month goes by. If you would like to be a follower, you can do so by clicking on Google Friend Connect or Bloglovin' on the right side bar of the blog.

Black Cat Halloween Gift Bag!

I hope your Sunday has been a blessing! It warmed back into the 70's here and was so nice.

I have a gift bag to share with you today. I actually made this a few weeks ago, but I have not been able to photograph it well, Today's photo is the best one I've gotten, so I am just sharing!

The bag is from SVG Cuts' Catacomb Manor collection and stands 11" tall. To make the bag, I used a pattern paper from the My Mind's Eye Lost and Found Halloween collection. The Black Cat file is from Miss Kate Cuttables. I stretched her out just a bit to make her fit. The tag is from the Spellbinder's Pennant dies and the sentiment is from Jaded Blossom's Meow and Forever stamp set. This bag looks so awesome in person. I can't wait to fill it with a fun gift and give it away!!!

Thank you for stopping by today!

Hand Over the Candy...

Well it is day 2 of October and I have my 2nd project for the month. Wow!!! Last month, I just had no mojo! But this is my favorite month of the year both for crafting and just because! October is beautiful in my neck of the woods and I'm looking forward to taking my kiddos on some adventures this month. I'm also looking forward to sharing lots of Halloween and Fall projects here and I might just throw in a few Christmas ones as well.

When I saw the cut file I am using today, I just couldn't wait to get it on the front of a card. I think this vintage Jack-O-Lantern is just perfect, especially, with all his spider friends.

He looks like he is having a smashing good time!!! The cut files are all from Miss Kate Cuttables. I used Vintage Jack O Lantern and Halloween Set. I cut the spider in three different sizes. The background paper is from Doodlebug Design's Ghouls and Goodies collection. I think I can safely say that over the last year this has become my go to paper company. I have fallen for their color schemes and whimsical characters! The Jack is attached using foam tape and then the tag and spiders are attached using a double layer of foam tape. The sentiment is from Scrappy Mom Stamps' Bewitched set. Lots of fun Halloween sentiments on this one!!! All the pieces are inked to add a bit of color dimension as well!

It might be hard to see it but the tag has faux stitching around the edges of it. Yes, I am quite jealous of all my crafty friends who have the fun dies with faux stitching, so I decided to make my own. I measured my sentiment and created the tag in my DE software that would work for it. I then used the internal offset to make a smaller rectangle inside the original and then changed the line from solid to dashed. I cut the outer edge on a setting that would cut through my paper, but cut the dashed line separately. For the dashes, I turned my blade down to '1' under the Advanced Cut Settings so that the dashes scored, but didn't cut all the way through. It will be a technique that will work until I can get some of those fancy dies too!!!

This one was super fun to make and will hopefully get mailed to a pretty special friend.

Hope you enjoy it and thanks for dropping by today!

Mr & Mrs - Bridal Shower Card

Wow, this has been a slow month for me in a crafty sense. I do have a few projects finished, but I haven't found the time to share them. I hope to remedy that in the next few days!!!

Today I have a card to share though. We had a wonderful bridal shower at the church this afternoon to celebrate the marriage of a beautiful young couple. Those who put it together did a great job! I wanted to make a card to give today since my gift was being shipped directly to them. As I was thinking about what to make, I remembered a card that Vivian Lake had made as a DT project for the PDE Linky Party a couple of months back. Yes, I'm even inspired by my DT sisters!!! Vivian does such wonderful work and I knew that I wanted to design my card after the fashion of hers.

I started with a 5x5" card base using a 110# cardstock. The black layer is cut at 4 3/4x4 3/4" and then the designer paper from Recollections Valentine 6x6 pad was cut at 4 5/8 x 4 5/8". The border strip is about 1 1/2" in height. The Mr and Mrs cut file is from Miss Kate Cuttables and is layered on red, pink and white cardstock. I used three self-adhesive jewels to add a finishing touch. The jewels didn't photograph well at all though and the photo makes me think of sauder spots.

For some but not all of the inking on this card, I actually used something beside my favorite Memento inks. I have recently bought some of the Mini Distress Ink kits and used a couple of the colors here.

If you want to see Vivian's original card, you can find it on this PDE Linky Party post here.

Thank you all for dropping in today.

Blessings,

Get Well - PDE Linky Party

Hey, All!!! It is another Friday post for the PDE Linky Party!

And this week's theme is Get Well!

With Halloween coming up, I have witches and goblins and everything spooky on the brain. So when I made this project, I couldn't help but go in that direction.

The tissue box was made using a tutorial I found on the Splitcoast Stampers site. To add some dimension to the box itself, I broke out an embossing folder and ran the panels through my Cuttlebug. I then took some silver ink and lightly ran it over the sides to add some color to the impressions. For my opening at the top of the box, I used a Spellbinders Label 10 die. The Skull and Crossbones file is from Miss Kate Cuttables. For the sentiment, I used a die from the Spellbinders Nested Pennants set and stamped Get Well to it.

I wanted to print out a sentiment that says, "Don't Die"; but maybe that would have been too much. LOL! Hope you enjoy my project and that you will give it or something similar a try. Have a great weekend and don't forget to drop by the PDE Linky Party with your Get Well projects.

Kitty Sidekicks!

It's Friday and it is party time with
This week's theme: Besties Card
Here is a little inspiration for you to get your creative juices flowing!!!

Lots of clean white space is hard for me, but I really like how all the white makes the blues and pinks on this card pop. The card is A2 size with a white on white background. The background piece is inked with Summer Sky Memento Ink. Memento Inks are my go to inks for most projects although I do prefer Color Box inks for my brown tones. The Cat file is from Miss Kate Cuttables. I only used 3 main layers to create this instead of the five shown in the PDF, and then, of course, cut the pink layers for the cheeks and the heart. For the eyes and nose, I used a black marker to color them in. The layers were inked with the same Summer Sky ink to add depth to the piecings. The sentiment is from Jaded Blossom's Super Hero (Revamp) set and is stamped onto a cut file from Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons.

Hope you enjoy this card and will give it or something similar a try.

Here's what I created

I love this sentiment from the Freebie set called The World! I love my family, my friends, and my community deeply. This sentiment will be used often. I started by cutting just the bag from the Dinosaur Handled Bag file from SVG Cutting Files. I cut it using some sweet paper from Graphic 45. I then cut out the world using the Teachers Rock collection from Treasure Box Designs and attached it to the front with foam tape. I cut some stars from the Out of This World Collection also from Treasure Box Designs and added them with foam tape as well. I then cut the banner from a Miss Kate Cuttables collection and added the sentiment and attached it. This will be a fun treat bag to leave on my hubby's desk. It is important to let him know how much he means to me often!!!
