Have a Rockin' Birthday! - Guest Designing for Die Cuttin' Divas

(If you are looking for the Sweet Summertime Co-Blog Hop, please click here.)

Do you have a Tween or Teen in your home that you find hard to make cards for? Well then, maybe I have an idea for you today!!!

So excited to be Guest Designing for Die Cuttin' Divas!!!

This week's challenge theme: Anything Goes

Here is a card that I made for my son who has hit the Tween years:

My son's favorite color is purple and he loves music, so this cute Little Gems Rocker file from Treasure Box Designs made it easy to whip up a card for him. I forgot to take a picture of the inside before writing a note to my son, but the sentiment was pieced together from a Jaded Blossom stamp and a My Craft Spot stamp and says: "Have a Rockin' Birthday." I used a black piece of cardstock for the base. The background paper was die cut from a My Creative Time Stitched Rectangular die and is from the We R Memory Keepers Collection - Teen Angst.

So glad you stopped by today!!! I hope you will hit the follower button and keep coming back! I also invite you to stop by my Facebook and Pinterest pages.

And please stop by Die Cuttin' Divas and enter your card in to this week's Anything Goes Challenge!

Blessings,

You should be arriving here from -----'s blog. if you happened across this post out of order, please head to the Trendy Twine blog to start at the beginning of the hop.

SVG Attic's Cape Cod collection has a lot of fun elements perfect for a variety of projects. I decided to use them to make these two cards for you. And pairing them up with some Totally White and Totally Red Trendy Twine was the perfect touch.

For the first card, I pieced together the sailboat to fit nicely on my A2 size card base. I then took my Totally White Trendy Twine and wrapped it around the left side and attached the anchor to it. I then added the sentiment "Make today ridiculously Amazing!"

For the second card, I cut out the pieces for the lighthouse and added the rock to the bottom of the card base flush with the background paper. I then took the background piece of the lighthouse and wrapped Totally Red Trendy Twine around the bottom half. I then layered the rest of the pieces over the top to finish it off. I added this to my card on the left side leaving room for my sentiment in the top right corner that says "Faith does not make things easy, it makes things possible."

I can't wait to see your projects using Trendy Twine and SVG Attic products!!!

The cards are A2 Size (4 1/4" x  5 1/2").

The background paper is from Doodlebug Design's Patriotic Picnic. The border strip in the middle was made with a Martha Stewart punch. Both the sweet boy and girl were inked and chalked to add dimension and character. I think they look so cute all dressed up for the 4th of July festivities!!!

If you remember, a couple of weeks ago, I had a celebration giveaway on my Facebook page. Well one of my prizes was a custom card. My winner wanted a birthday card and I have it finished and ready to share with all of you today.

I am using the Make a Wish file from Treasure Box Designs. The bear is so cute hanging on to his sweet gift box. He is ready to open it up and see what goodies lie inside!

The card is A2 size. All the patterned papers are from Doodlebug Design's Hip Hip Hooray collection. The background papers are cut using the My Creative Time Rectangular Stitched Dies. The decorative border strip was created with a Martha Stewart punch as well. The sentiment is from My Creative Time's Beary Special Thoughts stamp set. On the inside, the card is also stamped with a Happy Birthday sentiment from My Craft Spot.

Stars and Stripes!

Sharing my Design Team post for Trendy Twine today.
This month has been all about Stars and Stripes Trendy Twine as we prepare for the 4th of July holiday. I have a tag to share with you today.
The tag is from the Silhouette store. It is one of the freebies they give you when you get your machine. I used Doodlebug Designs Patriotic Picnic collection for the background. The star is a file from Little Scraps of Heaven. I believe it was a past freebie. My favorite part is the Trendy Twine that I used to decorate the top of the tag. This is such an awesome mix of colors in this twine. I finished it off with a sentiment from Verve Stamps Happy Hello collection.
I really like the stripes and polka dot combination of this tag. And all the colors just seem to pop!!!
Thank you for dropping by today. I hope you will stop by my Facebook and Pinterest pages as well. And please visit the Trendy Twine store - Annie's Paper Boutique - to pick up your Stars and Stripes Trendy Twine. It is on sale all month long.
Blessings,

Marine Retirement Invitation

I had a friend ask me to make some invitations for a retirement party for her brother-in-law who is retiring from the Marines. Having been a DT Member for My Scrap Chick, I remembered that Kristy and Val have a Marine Shirt Card kit that I used for these. I made 20 of them.

So I think they turned out great and I really like them, but all of you who are familiar with the Marines will notice that the pins on the shirt collar are backwards. My friend's husband pointed that out to me as he is also a retired Marine. Oh well. Just remember if you make one, that the picture that comes with the pattern shows them this way, but make them the other way.

Hope you have a fabulous Thursday and I am so glad you dropped by my front porch to take a look. I invite you to visit my Facebook and Pinterest pages or find me on Instagram @mmirandacreations.

SVG Attic Guest Designer - Baby Boy Gift Box

I'm excited to be Guest Designing again today for SVG Attic!

I am still in the baby mood!!! Sssh! I have a baby shower to help plan soon, so it is on my mind!!!

For this fun gift box, I used the Cottontail Bunny Kit and the Baby Boy Kit.

I really like to watch little boys when they are fascinated by a plane, train, or automobile. If fact, some cute little plastic transportation toys might be the perfect thing to stuff in this box. It would also be the perfect size for some socks or onesies to give you a few ideas. The finished box is 5" W x 3.5" H x 1.75" L (deep). I used Canvas Corp's Blue and Ivory Dot cardstock. To close the top of the box I used some Totally Natural Trendy Twine. I added a tag from My Craft Spot's Tiny Tags stamp set.

Thank you for dropping in today and I hope you will stop by the SVG Attic store to see all the fun SVG collections they have for you there.

Blessings,

"Mom, Can We Make that Cow Card?"

I had so much fun with my daughter last week. You see, she had seen a post from a friend on FB of a card with a cow on it, and she just had to make one herself. So for about 2 weeks all I heard was "Mom, can we make that cow card?" Well last week was the first week the kiddos were out of school, so we got to it. We made matching cards (well for the most part anyway).

Hers is on the right with that fantastically fun background of suns and rainbows and the beautiful pink bows. I went for more of a country look with a red houndstooth background and bows. Her background is from Doodlebug Designs Springtime collection and mine is from My Mind's Eye Blush collection. We used the My Creative Time Stitched Rectangular dies.
The cute cow is from KaDoodlebug Designs.

She did an awesome job on her card and only had minimal help once I cut out the pieces with my Cameo. I look forward to making more with her this summer. Have a happy crafty day everyone and thank you for stopping in!

Blessings,

Thank You to Our Service Men and Women

Today I am posting for Trendy Twine. The Trendy Gals have been sharing projects all month long on the Trendy Twine blog using the Stars and Stripes Trendy Twine and the Kraft Pillow Boxes.
For my project, I wanted to make something I could use to thank those who serve. Or it could even be given to a hostess for a 4th of July gathering. I am using the Medium Kraft Pillow Box for this.

The card is A2 size. For this card, I wanted the twine to be the focal point, so I did not add my usual paper piecing on top of the patterned paper. I wanted my Stars and Stripes Twine to pop off the card instead.  The border is cut from a Martha Stewart punch. Over the border, I wrapped three lengths of twine and tied them with a bow. The sentiment is from Jaded Blossom. For my Medium Kraft Pillow Box, I decorated it by wrapping it several times with the twine. I then added a set of stars from SVG Cuts. The banner was cut from a Spellbinders die and again the sentiment is from Jaded Blossom. This box will be perfect for adding a treat, a small gift, or gift card. Together it will make a wonderful gift set for anyone this 4th of July as we celebrate freedom, but especially for those who serve.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you will also visit my Facebook and Pinterest pages or find me on Instagram @mmirandacreations.

Blessings,

2015 Grad!

Finished up an order today and thought I'd share it with you all. Right now is the time for celebrating all the graduates in our life and I have a client who is doing just this. I made two sets of these paper piecings for her to add to her scrapbooks of the Grad Girl from the Grad Kids set from Treasure Box Designs with the 2015 Grad Title as well.

The school colors are red and black and she wore a silver sash on graduation day. The girl stands approx. 6 3/4" high and the title is approx. 4 3/4" wide x 4 3/4" high. I really like how it turned out and excited to get both sets out in the mail tomorrow.

Thanks for dropping in today. Hope you will stop by my Facebook Page as well. I have a celebration giveaway going on over there through Saturday evening. You have a chance at two prizes, both sponsored by Treasure Box Designs. Stop by to see how you can win.

Batter Up, You're Invited!

We have a birthday coming up soon and my guy is a huge sports fan, so this is the invitation I have made for him. I'm excited about how well it turned out.

Baseball season is just starting around here, so he asked me to make a baseball card. I wish the picture better showed the inking on the card that I did to make it look like a well used ball. The background paper is from old We R Memory Keepers pad called MVP (Using It Up for the Little Red Wagon Challenge). I think this collection was one of the best collections of sports paper ever made and I have had it in my stash for awhile hanging on to it. The ball is from SVG Cuts Fun and Games kit. Mary is a master at making intricate cuts work like slicing butter, so I knew the threads in her baseball would cut just fine. I have a few more to make, but these are pretty quick to put together, so it shouldn't take long at all.

Thanks for dropping by! I also invite you to drop by my  Facebook and Pinterest pages or to find me on Instagram @mmirandcreations. They are all pages that make it easy for you to keep up with my crafty happenings!

Last Day of School!

Every teacher needs an apple, right?! Especially one filled with gummy worms. And not just any apple will do; but for the BEST TEACHER EVER as my little one always refers to her teacher, it has to be a pink apple. Love how it turned out and my little one was so excited to give this to her teacher on the last day of Kinder today. Hope you like it as well!

The 3D apple is from the Miss Baker's Classroom kit from SVG Cuts. 3D projects is where I started my love for paper crafting before I really started making cards. Making this reminded me of why I enjoyed that so much. There is nothing like taking a flat piece of paper and helping it to take a shape. I used some American Craft Cardstock and a piece of Paper Studio paper that has been in my stash for a bit to make this. As always I inked the edges of the panels using some Angel Pink Memento ink. Love my Memento inks!!! I can't craft without them. The sentiment and tag are from My Craft Spot (miss that store!). And the twine bow is Trendy Twine's Totally Pink - definitely one of my most favorite colors!!!!

My son also wanted something to give his teacher for the last day of school as she is retiring. He had such a great year as well and he was adamant that he needed a card with a dog as his teacher loves dogs. So this is the card he gave to her.

The card is A2 sized with a file from Treasure Box Designs called Bobble Buddies Dog. The twine is the Totally Red from Trendy Twine and the sentiment is also from My Craft Spot. The background paper is from Doodlebug Design. My son does want me to talk to Mary over at SVG Cuts about a 3D dog though. He thinks if she can make a pattern for an owl (which I made for his teacher last year) and that she can make a pattern for a bunny then a dog should be no problem. He'd be very excited about a cat as well. How about it, Mary? You'd make one sweet boy very happy!!!

Thanks for dropping by! I hope you will have enjoyed my projects today. I also invite you to drop by my  Facebook and Pinterest pages or to find me on Instagram @mmirandcreations. They are all pages that make it easy for you to keep up with my crafty happenings!

'My Stuffie' Boy Scrapbook LO!

How about another cute Layout this morning!!!
This one uses the Little Gems Huggies file from Treasure Box Designs. I think this set of files is about as adorable as it gets. He just look so cute snuggled up with his favorite teddy bear.

Like I shared on my card using the little girl that comes with the Little Gems file from a few days back, my kids have always called their stuffed animals 'Stuffies'. So I had to tittle my LO 'My Stuffie.' I made the title myself in my DE software. The LO is 12x12 and the boy stands about 8 1/4" tall. The bear in the corner is the same as the one the boy is holding - it is just smaller and flipped, and I moved the legs and arms around to make him sitting. The photo mats will all hold a 3 1/2" square photo. Most of the cardstock is either Bazzill or Coredinations and the patterned paper is from the open stock section of my local Michael's store. I really like all the blues (but they sure do make photographing it a bit difficult. LOL).
This is the card I made the other day using the Little Gem Huggies Girl. She is such a doll. You can find all the details about it on my original post.

The LO and card are both listed in my eBay store right now.
The link to my layout is here.
The link to my card is here.

Thank you for dropping in today. I always enjoy your comments. You can also see all of my latest creations on my Facebook and Pinterest pages or on Instagram @mmirandcreations.

SVG Attic Guest Designer - Congrats, It's a Boy Card

Happy Wednesday! Exciting news!!! Today I am Guest Designing for SVG Attic. Thank you to Beth and everyone over there for such a fun opportunity!
Well, you all know that I love making cards, so that is what I have for you today. I used files from two different sets from the SVG Attic store - Tent Cards and Baby Boy. Great thing about this card is that it can also be used as a centerpiece on the tables for a baby shower or as a baby announcement (just take off the 'Congrats'). I really like how it turned out!

The card is A2 size (5 1/4" x 4 1/2"). I used Coredinations Teal Stripe and Moonstone cardstocks and Recollections white cardstock. The base of the card is from the Tent Cards collection. Just open the file and follow the instructions on the PDF to get the card to the size you'd like. The onesie, plane, train, and the 'It's a Boy' phrase are all from the Baby Boy collection. The 'Congrats' is a die from My Creative Time and does not come with either set of files from SVG Attic. And the twine is of course from Trendy Twine. It is called Tickled with Teal. It is a beautiful combination of white and light and dark teal. It gives a nice finishing touch!

For instructions on assembling this card, head on over to my post on the SVG Attic blog.

I wish you could see the card in person. The moonstone cardstock for the onesie, plane, and train is a shimmer paper that is just beautiful on this project. I hope you will give this a try and then share your finished piece on the SVG Attic Fanatics FB Group. I'd love to see all the color/paper combos you all could come up with! Also stop by the store to see all the fun collections and get creative!

Thank you for stopping by! I invite you to visit my Facebook and Pinterest pages as well or to find me on Instagram @mmirandcreations.

Blessings,

So Proud of You!

It's that time of year when we celebrate the accomplishments of our graduating Seniors.

Graduating High School is a big deal! And I want to give a shout out to all those who are graduating this year that I love! May God guide your future and open doors for you that will lead you closer to Him and may you have the courage to step into those doors.

Treasure Box Designs has a cute set of boy and girl graduates called Grad Kids and the Grad 2015 title. Both can be found in the store. I used the Graduating Girl on my card.

The card is an A2 size. My piecing stand about 5 1/4" tall. The background paper is from My Mind's Eye Blush 6x6 paper pad. The sentiment is from My Craft Spot's Big Sentiments 2 stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by. I invite you to also visit my Facebook and Pinterest pages or find me on Instagram @mmirandcreations to follow all of my paper crafting inspiration.
