Birthday Time!

We are always needing Birthday Cards, right!!!

My oldest is 13 today! I have my 1st official teenager, oh my!!! And he is off at camp, so I don't even get to see him today. Makes me sad!!! He is a fantastic kiddo and blesses mine and my husband's life immensely!!! Love that boy and can't wait to celebrate with him this Sunday! I'll be making him and my husband both a nice dinner to celebrate since my boys missed Father's Day as well. Then next month we will have a big shindig to celebrate this special milestone!

I started with some great papers from Doodlebug Design and dies and stamps from Jaded Blossom. I cut both papers using Rectangle Dies 1 and then cut the blue birthday paper with the balloon border die from Border Dies 2. I used the Happy Hello stamp set to add my sentiment. I then used foam squares to attach the blue birthday paper at the bottom and then taped it all to a card base. I like the dimension at the bottom of this one.

Thanks for stopping by!

Blessings,

Grand Slam Birthday!!!

With all the packing last month and the move at the beginning of this month, I haven't felt like I've had much time to craft. But in celebration of being home, I had to make this card for my Jaded Blossom DT project over on the Jaded Blossom Blog!!!

I'm sure I have already mentioned this, but I really love the Sports Dies that came out this month. I also used the new Hey Batter stamp set and the Card Mat Dies on this card. I traced the Royals logo using my Cameo software. I've already been out to the ballpark since arriving home. We moved back here from Cleveland and the Royals were playing the Indians the night I went to the game. Too much fun - especially since my Royals won that night.

My son's birthday is Wednesday, but we will have to wait until next weekend to celebrate as he is at camp for the week. This will be my start to transforming him into a Royals fan. I am also working on my husband!!! Hope you like the card. It would be an awesome card to make with any team's logo to give to your favorite baseball fan!

Thanks for swinging by!!!

Blessings,

Dude - Happy Birthday! Jaded Blossom May Release Day 4

It's time for the  Jaded Blossom May Release Sneak Peek Day 4! I think today's stamp set is one of my all time favorites - maybe even my absolute favorite. But that's because I like turtles!!! And I know that you will like the cute little turtle and the fun sentiments on this set too!

Today the Jaded Blossom DT is showcasing projects using the new Turtley Rad stamp set.

I decided to ink up the turtle and to stamp directly to my back panel for a one layer clean and simple look! I also decided to continue layering on the greens to give it a monochromatic feel. I just love how it turned out!!! Using the smaller version of the turtle, I made some candies to match.

Other Jaded Blossom products used; Card Mat Dies, Funny Bunny, and Paint Splatters 2

Isn't this just the cutest!!! My son saw it and just loved it! He asked me to make a non birthday version for a friend of his at school who also really likes turtles. The patterned paper is from Doodlebug Design's new Anchor's Aweigh collection. I used Papertrey Ink's New Leaf cardstock for the base. Everything was stamped directly onto the background panel. When I stamped on the turtle though, it looked as if he was just floating around; so I used a stamp from Paint Splatters 2 to give him some dirt to walk through. So that my pile of dirt didn't get too large and my turtle didn't get splattered as well, I masked both the turtle and part of the stamp.

I used Copic Markers to color the turtle. I don't have many markers, but luckily I have just the right colors to work for this guy. I am by no means proficient with my markers (not even close), but I am excited for the challenge of learning. I need to work on my blending technique for sure. And with cute JB images like this, I can't help but want to learn!!! I think that is the best part about crafting and other hobbies - always getting a chance to improve your skills and trying new techniques.

Here is a photo of today's new stamp set:

Turtley Rad

Told you it was a cute set!!!

Remember this stamp set along with the rest of the release will be available for purchase starting Friday at 4 pm Pacific time. You can scroll down to the next 3 blog posts to see my projects from Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday if you'd like.

Then stop back by tomorrow for another sneak in the morning and for our Jaded Blossom Blog Hop starting at 4 pm Pacific time.

You're Cute! 5 Days of Baby Buddies w/ Treasure Box Designs!

I am so excited to be teaming up with Treasure Box Designs again for another 5 day series of inspiration using files from the TBD store.

This time around we are sharing

Today is Day 4!

First, I want to apologize for the delay of Day 4 and 5. I was not expecting the curve in the road that came out of no where, but it was fantastic! If you all don't know what I am talking about, I was suppose to have Day 4 and 5 for you this past Friday and Saturday; but instead I had to leave a message on Day 4 that my last two projects would be delayed until today and tomorrow. I had an important family issue and was just glad it was a fun issue and not some kind of sad emergency. It is always better when it happens that way - don't you agree?!! Anyway, as promised, here is Day 4's post. I am so glad for all of you who are sticking with me through this series!!! And tomorrow you will be in for a real treat - there will be a Grand Prize to be won!!!

I want to show you some really fun ways to use these files on cards and maybe on some other projects over the next 5 days. Baby Buddies will look awesome on baby projects for sure and some time this week I will have a project or two showing just that, but I also want to show you some other ways to use them. Today's card features a fun way to use only a part of the file.

I often see stamped cards on Pinterest where someone has created a card with a circle staged in the middle where the whole scene of the card plays out and then the rest of the card is left as clean space. Often the focal point is created with some kind of circular die just as I have used here. I like these types of cards so much, so I decided to try it with the Baby Buddies Lion file. I just love the way it turned out. My lion just pops out in the middle and the sentiment says it all. And as guy cards can be so hard, I think this one is perfect for both your hubby or those little men in your life that always seemed to be attached to your leg. LOL!

I also think with a different sentiment that this would be a great birthday or new baby card. Or even a jungle themed invitation. I'm sure you all can come up with other ideas as well.

I used the Lion from the Baby Buddies Tiger and Lion file. Both of them are just adorable!!! I was able to make this without using the arms or tail in the Lion file. I did add some hands from another file though. There are lots of files in the Treasure Box Designs store with these hands.

You can get the Baby Buddies Tiger and Lion file here.

Prize Alert!!!
Now what would 5 days of fun inspiration be without prizes. One lucky comment on this post will win one Baby Buddies file of choice. There are 8 files to choose from with 2 animals in each file.

How to WIN:
1. Leave a comment here telling me what kind of occasion and or sentiment would be perfect for this card.

That's it!!! Tomorrow I will announce the winner at 5:45 pm eastern time.

And then be looking at 6 pm for tomorrow's project using another of the fun Baby Buddies files.

Here are all of the Baby Buddies Files:

You should know there will be a
Grand Prize on Day 5. You won't want to miss it!!!

Thank you for joining us!

For the Basketball Coach - Thank You! Die Cuttin' Divas' Guest Designer

Hey, all! I love when I get a chance to guest design on the

The Theme for Challenge #260: Sports

That's right, this week you can use your electronic die cutting machines or your regular die cuts and make anything that has to do with sports.

And I just love it when a challenge project coincides with my life. This last weekend I needed a card for my son's basketball coach. They went 15-0 for the season and had a party to celebrate their championship win. It was good to hang out with the team one more time.

Here is the card I made:

I used the Hoops collection from Treasure Box Designs for the basketball. I started with a piece of Kraft cardstock from Papertrey Ink. I cut my background using Graphic 45's Good Ol' Sport collection and Jaded Blossom's Card Mat Dies. I then cut a piece of black cardstock from Papertrey Ink to give it a border. I used Jaded Blossom's Supersized Thank You stamp set for the sentiment and stamped Thank You using Black Soot Distress Ink (I need to replace my Memento Black Tux ink or I would have used it). I then die cut a border from Jaded Blossom Border Dies and finished off the card by cutting the basketball from Hoops with my Cameo, piecing it together, and then popping it on the front with foam adhesive. Before I adhered it, I decided how much of the right side needed to be trimmed from the basketball and used my paper trimmer to trim it off.

I hope you like this one. Coach seemed to like it along with a gift of photography I gave him from the Championship game. I took a photo of his son shooting a free throw that caught him in mid air. I blew it up to a 5x7 and put it in a frame. Photos always make nice gifts, especially for those who are too busy coaching our kids to take photos of their own.

Hope you will join us for the challenge. I know you will enjoy it and all the challenges at Die Cuttin' Divas. Have a great Tuesday!!!

Create Your Own Magic!

Happy Tuesday to you! I hope your day is magical!!!

It is my day to post on the Jaded Blossom blog and I have this super fun 12x12 layout to share with you using a file from Treasure Box Designs!

I used the Tots and Whatnots Magic collection from the Teenie Treasures files at Treasure Box Designs. (The banner at the top does not come with the cut file collection.) The patterned paper is from Authentique's Beauty collection. And I finished it off using the Unicorns and Glitter stamp set for the sentiment on the star and the Card Mat Dies for the top layer of the photo mat from the Jaded Blossom store. I may have went a tad white gel pen happy on his tux, but it came out super adorable!!! Hope you will give this LO a try!!!
