Little Drummer Boy!

I am most certainly not wanting to skip the joys of October as this month is my favorite of the year; but I can't hide my excitement either of celebrating the Lord at Christmas time.

This Toy Drum file from SVG Cuts makes me think of the song "Little Drummer Boy."

...I have no gift to bring...That's fit to give our king...Shall I play for you...Mary nodded...The ox and lamb kept time...I played my drum for him...I played my best for him...

Pa rum pum pum pum...

It is so wonderful when we just give Jesus whatever we have!

I used black cardstock for the base of the drum and then decorated it with an old K and Company paper set I have had in my drawer for quite awhile. Lining the sides on the top and bottom are brads that have thin knitting thread weaved around them.
I hope joy fills you this season of celebration and may the Lord be glorified in the gifts you share with Him. Thanks for dropping by today!

Hugs and Blessings,

Black Cat Halloween Gift Bag!

I hope your Sunday has been a blessing! It warmed back into the 70's here and was so nice.

I have a gift bag to share with you today. I actually made this a few weeks ago, but I have not been able to photograph it well, Today's photo is the best one I've gotten, so I am just sharing!

The bag is from SVG Cuts' Catacomb Manor collection and stands 11" tall. To make the bag, I used a pattern paper from the My Mind's Eye Lost and Found Halloween collection. The Black Cat file is from Miss Kate Cuttables. I stretched her out just a bit to make her fit. The tag is from the Spellbinder's Pennant dies and the sentiment is from Jaded Blossom's Meow and Forever stamp set. This bag looks so awesome in person. I can't wait to fill it with a fun gift and give it away!!!

Thank you for stopping by today!

Autumn Days are Here Again!

Happy Saturday! and Happy World Card Making Day!!!

I hope you have found some time to whip up a card or two today!

Here is what I have for you:

How about a cute scarecrow! He is actually a re-purposed scarecrow. I originally made this guy as part of a Belly Box from My Scrap Chick. This was the head, but over the last year the weight of the foam squares and the paper began to slump the head; so I took the head off and threw out the rest. You can see the original project from last November here.

The card measures 4 3/4 x 4 3/4". The background paper is from Doodlebug Design's Happy Harvest collection. As I said the Scarecrow is from My Scrap Chick. The Trendy Twine is Orange Truffle and can be found at Annie's Paper Boutique. The sentiment is from a set called Heirloom Traditions by Punkin Patch Stamps which is no longer in business. It is nice to find a new purpose for this guy. I think this card will go to my Secret Sister at church.

Thank you for dropping by today. I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Hand Over the Candy...

Well it is day 2 of October and I have my 2nd project for the month. Wow!!! Last month, I just had no mojo! But this is my favorite month of the year both for crafting and just because! October is beautiful in my neck of the woods and I'm looking forward to taking my kiddos on some adventures this month. I'm also looking forward to sharing lots of Halloween and Fall projects here and I might just throw in a few Christmas ones as well.

When I saw the cut file I am using today, I just couldn't wait to get it on the front of a card. I think this vintage Jack-O-Lantern is just perfect, especially, with all his spider friends.

He looks like he is having a smashing good time!!! The cut files are all from Miss Kate Cuttables. I used Vintage Jack O Lantern and Halloween Set. I cut the spider in three different sizes. The background paper is from Doodlebug Design's Ghouls and Goodies collection. I think I can safely say that over the last year this has become my go to paper company. I have fallen for their color schemes and whimsical characters! The Jack is attached using foam tape and then the tag and spiders are attached using a double layer of foam tape. The sentiment is from Scrappy Mom Stamps' Bewitched set. Lots of fun Halloween sentiments on this one!!! All the pieces are inked to add a bit of color dimension as well!

It might be hard to see it but the tag has faux stitching around the edges of it. Yes, I am quite jealous of all my crafty friends who have the fun dies with faux stitching, so I decided to make my own. I measured my sentiment and created the tag in my DE software that would work for it. I then used the internal offset to make a smaller rectangle inside the original and then changed the line from solid to dashed. I cut the outer edge on a setting that would cut through my paper, but cut the dashed line separately. For the dashes, I turned my blade down to '1' under the Advanced Cut Settings so that the dashes scored, but didn't cut all the way through. It will be a technique that will work until I can get some of those fancy dies too!!!

This one was super fun to make and will hopefully get mailed to a pretty special friend.

Hope you enjoy it and thanks for dropping by today!

Follow the Yellow Brick Road

It's time to Follow the Yellow Brick Road!

I have made this super sweet one page layout that holds 3 - 3 1/4 x 3 1/4" photos using the Over the Rainbow and Petal Pals Buttercup files from

Treasure Box Designs.

Recently I had a client order a set of tags using the Over the Rainbow file after seeing the first set I had made last year. (You can see them on this post.) So while making those tags, I decided to make an extra set of piecings to put together this layout.

The patterned papers are from Doodlebug Design's Sunkissed collection. I used a Martha Stewart punch for the borders. Most of the cardstock is from Core'dination, but I have a couple of other brands in there as well. I have inked and chalked all the piecings to bring about dimension in the colors and then many of the pieces are also added to the page using adhesive foam.

This layout can be purchased on my eBay store here.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today. I'd love for you to leave a comment (I enjoy reading them) and hit the follower button on the right side bar.

You can also find more of my work on my Facebook or Pinterest pages.

Blessings,
